Today is TJW's 75th birthday. And there is news about a new album due to be released in September.
Hear Tony Joe White’s Gritty New Version of ‘Bad Mouthin”
Blues tune, which the swamp-rock legend first recorded in 1966, is the title track from his new album, due out September 28th

Thanks, Rocker. Not a fan but that's no reason not to wish TJW many happy returns of the day.

This seems to be the tracklist:
1.Bad Mouthin'
2.Baby Please Don't Go
3.Cool Town Woman
4.Boom Boom
5.Big Boss Man
6.Sundown Blues
7.Rich Woman Blues
8.Bad Dreams
9.Awful Dreams
10.Down the Dirt Road Blues
11.Stockholm Blues
12. Heartbreak Hotel
So it features a couple of re-recordings among others. Here are the original/earlier versions:
"Cool town woman":

(from "Closer to the truth")
"Rich Woman Blues":

(from "The Heroines")
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBqRi1_gA_Y
(from "The Beginning)
"Stockholm blues":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1AOYeFUeuo
(from 1970's "Tony Joe")
He also recorded a nearly 8 mins. version of John Lee Hooker's "Boom boom" on "Tony Joe":

I just read that unfortunately TJW had to cancel his australian tour because of back problems.
Interview with Tony Joe White
Warren interviews Tony Joe White about his big hit songs ("Polk Salad Annie" and "Rainy Night In Georgia") as well as his new album "Badmouthin'."

I don't think I've posted this before on this board. Anyway, well worth posting again. It's the young TJW in all his raw beauty:

If you don't know about him yet, this is a good place to start

As you can read under the links above, the new album's title song was written in the mid-60s as one of TJW's very first songs and he recorded it as a demo. I never heard that recording but it seems it is this one:
