Tarantino has always used music to great purpose in his films. His early soundtracks certainly had a profound impact on the industry, and artists like Steelers Wheel and Dick Dale benefitted tremendously from having their music included in these productions.

Since Once Upon a Time is a Manson themed film, one might expect, that a Beach Boys song could pop up. But the setting is LA in '69, which found the band being, by then, pretty unrepresentative of the music scene. And Tarantino has never been one to fit his music within the particular customs of the era of his subject matter anyways.

Still I would be curious if he would make the connection.

If the band strenuously objected, would they be able to block potential BB song usage?

Is that something that they have the power to do currently?

Something tells me the band members would not want any connection to this movie for any reason whatsoever. Ironically, while Mike Love has continuously touted his connections in Manson in order to sell his own book, I feel like the other members would not want this to happen. Then again, it's money in the bank...

If Never Learn Not to Love is in this movie, however, I'll eat my shorts.

(Side question - has NLNTL ever been used in any movie ever?  I could be wrong but I feel like it has only ever been released on the album 20/20, plus one oddball BB compilation that they almost certainly had no input on the tracklisting for... and that otherwise it is never been used or released in any other capacity at all, either by the band or for any other project.)
