COMMENT:  With some of the songs being discussed on this website, now might be a good time to re-visit the second in a series documentary:

Brian Wilson Songwriter 1969-1982

It is posted by a reviewer, Justin Plank, on YouTube. It tells an accurate story of Brian during this period (69-82). Besides myself, a number of people contribute facts and view points, some about songs rarely spoken about.

If you haven't seen this British made documentary for a while or not at all, it's worth your time for a reviewing. (Part 1 is a review by Justin Plank)

Part 2- https://youtu.be/RGm21q5Z53g

Part 3- https://youtu.be/YMllLzPEXgU

Part 4- https://youtu.be/pCxmWAzrFCo

Part 7- https://youtu.be/1TcSJdtIzB4

Part 8- https://youtu.be/9X5NjYZBcdE

Be sure to watch this. It's an amazing series for anyone and especially for those just starting to follow the incredible life of Brian Wilson.

Excellent doc. Thanks Steve!  On another note.....there is a documentary where one of Brian’s friends states that he was in the garage ready to drive somewhere with Brian during the mixing of ‘Til I Die. He said that as they were leaving, Brian heard the mix from the garage, ran back up the the booth, and added some echo. He said it “made all the difference in the world.” Do you recall this instance? Anything to add to the story? As always thanks for your valuable insight.

COMMENT to Til...I...@died:  Nothing like that happened, but in the second part of my book I do tell what really happened. Soon. ~swd

Would love a whole docu just on Sunflower.

How was Deirdre recorded? Was it done quickly? How did Bruce and Brian collaborate on that one?
Thanks.

You will find answers to "How was Deirdre recorded? Was it done quickly? How did Bruce and Brian collaborate on that one?" by going to my website, http://swdstudyvideos.com.  While there, check out Recording The Beach Boys and click on page one. Read about Sunflower and then eventually the recording details of "Deirdre."

Wow.  Glad you kept a journal and have a good memory.  I really like how the bass vocal is louder on this and also the processing on the lead vocal. Thanks!
