Of course! Without Kokomo the project would have been as disappointing according to Mike as TWGMTR. No out-of-the-box smash hit singles, you know?  LOL

We have not heard the last of this from Mike. Not by a longshot.

Amazing. I don't love the album, although it has its moments, but good for them.

How weird is it that their only #1 albums are the oddball choices "Concert" and this. Sort of like how their 1 competitive Grammy is Brian's version of "Fire". Just weird, bizarre stuff that gets the accolades sometimes.

And speaking of BBs and weird... look at this article about the same #1 album topic:

https://etcanada.com/news/340903/the-beach-boys-top-the-classical-albums-chart-for-the-first-time-ever/

In an article by a major publication regarding the BBs having a #1 album on the prestigious Classical charts, they use possibly the worst band photo in the group's history, from arguably the most embarrassing project in the group's history (Summer of Love on Baywatch).

The ever omnipresent lard vs. high art dichotomy at its most extreme, methinks. What a friggin' weird, weird, weird band we all love.

Don’t forget Endless Summer. So a concert album, a best of and an orchestra album go to #1, Sunflower goes to #151. Something ain’t right.

As for the picture that was used. Clearly no thought was there. The person who did the article is prolly as dumb as a bag of Christmas lights.

Interesting, they only needed 5000 units sold to top the classical music chart.

I can only find numbers for midweek updates, and not for a full week of sales, but it appears in the UK it sold 5,811 copies half way through the first week and another 9,745 half way through the second week.

I don't know why, but this feels kind of like when a basketball player shoots at the wrong basket to get the last rebound needed for a triple double.
