So they just played the RPH version of Fun,Fun,Fun and it sounded better than before. I think they gave the album a deadline because they wanted to remix it more. Tweak the balance between everything. It no longer sounds like the original with strings slapped on. I also heard some more session chatter from Help Me, Rhonda that had never before been heard. Including on bootlegs. Please release a 1965 sessions box set Capitol, it would be awesome!

I haven't heard them play the new orchestral version of "Fun Fun Fun" on the channel yet, so I can't say anything for certain. But it's also possible it just sounds different because of the compression/limiting, etc. on the channel. I've been noticing this more and more as I listen to the channel. A lot of the peaks and valleys of the songs are (understandably) a bit more smushed due to the compression. So mixes are sounding less dynamic, and I'm curious if the compression might smooth out the otherwise sometimes jarring effect of modern-day orchestra overdubs blurting over the vintage backing tracks. Just an idea/theory of course.

I’ve Heard Island Girl, In My Car, Wipeout, Somewhere Near Japan and of course Kokomo from Still Cruisin’. No title track or Make it Big thus far.

I'm *pretty* sure I heard Make It Big a few days ago.

Yeah it was on Wednesday morning

While the interview bits are usually too brief to be that substantive, I thought an interview bit I heard from Bruce was telling as to his priorities/frame of mind/thinking. He was discussing the "Wrecking Crew" musicians, and he seemed 100% fixated on how much money they made and kind of made it seem like the band giving them work was allowing those musicians to buy cars and houses and all of that. He even alluded to (I'm loosely paraphrasing) the musicians being able to record for the BBs and therefore not having to work themselves extra hard playing jazz at club gigs, etc. It's obviously literally true in some cases to some degree, no question, that the BB sessions were good solid work for those musicians. I just thought it was an odd area for Bruce to speak so adamantly about; he seemed entire fixated on the financial aspect of things rather than anything to do with music, and also seemed to imply (in my opinion) that these musicians otherwise weren't getting enough work until BB sessions came around.

I've heard a few other segments where they play an interview with someone talking about the "Wrecking Crew", only to play a track with all or mostly BBs on the backing track. A nit pick to be sure, not a big deal.

Did anyone catch the “Let’s go away for awhile” hard transition from “Girls on the Beach(?)” a few hours ago?

I think it directly followed it but I’m kind of blanking in the exact song previous to it. Regardless, it made me jump up in my seat almost since that immediate drum hit it pretty jarring plus the the upright bass is very prominent. I’m glad I had the volume pretty high because that was the best transition I’ve heard yet and is such a powerful instrumental.

They just did two in a row from 1965.  First Barbara Ann, then Kiss Me Baby... from UTL (again).  That makes me wonder if the covers are being flagged as originals.

Good question.

I wish they weren’t playing anything from the c50 live album .

I don't mind it since they've been avoiding the tracks with really bad autotune.  Plus, it brings back good memories for me (not just BBs, but 2012 in general was a good year).

True. I get nostalgic when I hear songs from TWGMTR. Haven’t heard them play Strange World yet but I did hear pacific coast highway the other day.

One song that I've really taken a shin too after all these years is Farmer's Daughter. They do a really nice job with this, and I never really paid a lot of attention to it before, even the Fleetwood Mac live version a few years ago.

The general rule seems to be they're playing all of the stuff that has been commercially released in-store on CD.

I heard Al Jardine's "California Energy Blues" the other day!  Was surprised to hear that one!
