Weird Al Yankovic's "Trigger Happy" is a Beach Boys parody (surf-rock era).
And his song "Pancreas" is a parody of Brian's production style and the many types of instruments he used.

Psychic TV's "Being Lost" is one of my favorites:

They also did a great cover of Good Vibrations:

I assumed this was some sort of exercise in avoiding that obvious answer. I find it hard to believe this wasn't the first answer to come to everyone's mind.

Couldn't find the entire movie clip on youtube, but this song/scene from "Walk Hard" is all about Smile era Brian.  I think Van Dyke was involved too.

Not a specific song, but the album "Fantasma" by Cornelius is full of Brian Wilson-type writing and charm.

Here's a link to that album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymIYDOygec4

Also, this new band "Midnight Sister" has an album that came out last year called "Saturn Over Sunset" that feels like the weird love child of Smile Beach Boys, ELO, and The Beatles. I've been listening to this album non-stop for the past week and a half and highly recommend it! Very weird and psychedelic, yet poppy!

The full album isn't on youtube on one video(it is on spotify if you have it!), but there is a playlist of all the separate songs you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJ7aRlyTbiqvSand-4PmfbWnDGfASjxNQ

"Showgirl" and "So Young" are my faves

That whole EP-turned-album was all Beatles/BBS pastiche. Pet Soul.

Anything off of the A-1 Alan Boyd 'Channel Surfing' album.  [which is far too excellent not to be excelled at every opportunity.]  Ask Stephen Desper ... or Jon Stebbins ... or me.  Wink

Get the album here...and learn sumthin' 'bout the guy who's been working with Mark Linett all these years for OUR collective benefit... and enjoyment... ... ...

And Dave Edmunds 'feels it'.  So?  He knows it.  [and for some reason he also sings my nom de plume]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzYKMdXxlW0

THAT'S what Brian and the Boys inspired.

Brilliant choice.

I've written about that album quite a bit in the past. It was a mind-blower when someone put it on back in 97 or 98 and I first heard "Mic Check" kick in. One of the most beautiful sound collages I've ever heard, I was hooked instantly. You need to listen with headphones to appreciate the art and skill Cornelius put into these tracks. Beautiful use of found sounds.

For those interested - It doesn't stop with the music. When I did pick up a copy of the album soon after hearing it, I found in the booklet Cornelius recreating some photos that true diehard Brian Wilson fans would appreciate. He recreated the shot of Brian gesturing with his hand at the talkback at Columbia studios during the PS sessions, he recreated the "wallpaper" shot of Brian in his kitchen during the Smile era that was to be one of the gatefold shots in the Smile booklet, and he did a Pet Sounds zoo shot where he's feeding a cat instead of a goat. Very cool nod to where his influences were coming from, right there.

And being a short-attention-span type of deal (I wonder how many are actually listening to the great music being posted in this thread...  Smiley  ) , here is the original video for that first track "Mic Check", which is a somewhat different mix than on the album, especially the beginning.

Once you hear how it starts, you'll hear "it" right away, "it" being the influence of and tribute to Brian Wilson. And stick with it until the track kicks in, it takes awhile for the groove to start up but when it does, it's pure sonic bliss.

There weren't any readily available online so I scanned a few of those BW, PS-Smile era tribute shots from Cornelius' "Fantasma" booklet, for those interested.

Seeing those kinds of photos in an album package 20 years ago was like finding a kindred spirit in terms of knowing and paying tribute to the best music ever made... Smiley

If you like it, I recommend his album Big Wave, which contains covers of Girls on the Beach, Please Let Me Wonder, Guess I'm Dumb, and Darlin'. Spector/Nilsson's This Could be the Night is a added bonus

Eiichi Otaki: "Kanaria Syoto Nite" and "Fun×4”

Both songs are on "A Long Vacation", an album that represents Japanese summer music. The former borrowed chorus from "Please Let Me Wonder", and the latter has reference to Fun, Fun, Fun.

The Seasons show their sense of rivalry to the BBs on these songs.

The Who's Rael 1 sounds very Beach Boys inspired in different parts:
https://youtu.be/5VnrLRo3Luo
I wouldn't be surprised if it was, seeing as Keith Moon was a huge fan.

There's a reason there's this history about how Brian Wilson was freaking out "My World Fell Down". Heck, even Bruce is obviously on that track

Anyhow, while Animal Collective has already been mentioned, it's worth mentioning their "Prospect Hummer". It sounds just like something from Smiley Smile.
And a word for Paul Mccartney's "Heart Of The Country" - It got this "I'd Love Just Once to See You" feeling over it
