Which songs on this album were written by Brian or other Beach Boys?

As far as I know it's:

Thinkin' 'Bout You Baby
Sweet Mountain (?)
This Whole World
Forever
Good Time
Is Down Home a Brian song - it sounds like it?

Who wrote Mama Said, Awake, Everybody?
Superstar I know is Leon Russel/Bonnie Bramlett and Now that Everything's been said, Carole King

Also who wrote Shyin Away, and It's Like Heaven?

Any info much appreciated. Thanks.

Taken from the Rhino CD, thus the track order is not the original:

Everybody - T. Roe
Thinkin' 'Bout You Baby - B. Wilson/Love
Mama Said - Dixon/Denson
Forever - D. Wilson/Jakobsen
Good Time - B. Wilson/Jardine
Now That Everything's Been Said - King/Stern
Down Home - Goffin/King
This Whole World - B. Wilson
Awake - Tucker
Sweet Mountain - B.Wilson/Sandler
Surpestar - Russell/Bramlett
Tennessee Waltz - Stewart/King

bonus tracks

Shyin' Away - M. Wilson/Rovell/Sandler
Fallin' In Love - D. Wilson
It's Like Heaven - B. Wilson/Rovell
Had to Phone Ya - B. Wilson/Rovell (later BB album release also credits Love)

Thanks Andrew G Doe - that's really helpul. I actually looked on your site for the info, but presumably as Spring is a side project I couldn't find it there. Excellent site though.

Do you know who recorded Mama Said previously to Spring? I don't recognise the writers' names.

Am I correct in assuming "Snowflakes" is a David Sandler song?

It's really interesting listening to this album again because songs like "Everybody" and "Now That Everything's Been Said," and "Down Home" sound like Brian's songs. The chord choices (lost of major 7ths and uprising/unexpected chord changes) and melodies completely sound of his. I wonder if this was a concious choice or Brian just wanting to rearrange some of his (or the girls') favorite obscure songs. If not, Brian definitely has a knack for Wilson-izing songs.

Listen to those tracks and tell me otherwise...

Plus there's the odds and sods too - Romeo And Juliet, Do Ya (Brian), Don't be Cruel, He's out to get you (Mike Love), Slip on through...

quotes from another board:

question from me:

On the 1973 American Spring single this song is credited to D. Sandler, B. Wilson, D. Rovell (Bri-Mur Publishing).
Later on the credits went from M. Wilson, D. Rovell, D. Sandler (Rhino´s Spring CD) to David Sandler, Marilyn Wilson, Diane Rovell (Pet Projects CD).
Who really has composed this song: Brian, Marilyn or (considering the publishing company) M. = Murry Wilson?

answer AGD:

M = Marilyn

According to the BMI archives, the composers of the song are Sandler, Diane and Marilyn.

Didn't Brian talk about writing it in the 1973 Pete Fornatelle interview?

That's the one. As silly as that was, he's much more conversational then he would be later in life. I looked through a few things and Sandler says Brian co-produced it with him but he doesn't say who wrote it only that he was co-author. An  1973 article says it's a Sandler song, but listening to it I wouldn't be surprised if Brian worte a little of the melody.
