I just stumbled upon this article online.

Brian Wilson produced Betty Jane Willis in the group Rachel & The Revolvers.  Apparently, she recently wound up homeless (super sad in and of itself), and she was just murdered on the streets of Santa Ana, CA.

Just heartbreaking.

Terrible! R.I.P.

Wasn't she the little sister of Little Eva? I don't have my "Pet projects" at hands, but I think the booklet mentioned something like that. She also sang "Number one", which Brian produced for her.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

"It has been written that Betty Willis was the voice of Rachel & the Revolvers on the rare Dot single produced by Brian Wilson which is NOT true. Betty Willis and Brian Wilson never crossed paths."

Freakin' awful news. I'd uncovered that pic of Betty during my research a couple of years ago. Very saddened and angry to hear now about how things turned for her in her final years, including her horrible death.  God bless, and R.I.P.
