Hello everyone, here's another Battle of the songs:
Carry On by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young from their most acclaimed album Deja vu
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP0VBB7BO64

Take It Easy by Eagles, which was their debut single in 1972
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfeNhwnO8hw

Both songs feature dry, cool harmony, but I prefer Take It Easy better for the entire production. I like Eagles' debut album very much.

Now, which do you think is the better song? Look forward to seeing how you think.

CSNY song: boring. To start with, I dislike any of 4 individual voices. It's simply not the type of music I like.

The Eagles song: catchy & dynamic. Cool banjo.

I like CSN(Y) but this particular song is "meh".
Take It Easy is probably my favorite Eagles song so that's my pick.

I voted for "Carry On". I've known and loved this one since the early '70s.

I've only recently started making inroads into The Eagles' oeuvre and haven't got to "TIE" yet.

Its hard for me to be objective here because Ive heard Take It Easy soooooooo many times.  So, I use that as my tiebreaker as I love both songs.

Objective? Why people throw this around, isn't these music threads about individual people's tastes?

It is.  But the fact that Ive heard Take It Easy so many times does have an effect on my opinion of the song.

Take it Easy is probably the only Eagles hit i'm not sick to death of.
Well, okay, I can add Tequila Sunrise, Take it to the Limit, and Lyin' Eyes to that list.
Heartache Tonight, Hotel California, Life in the Fast Lane, Witchy Woman, sick of each and every one of them.
So generally, I am less burned out on the CSN/CSNY stuff, but Carry On isn't getting my vote here.
And on that note, "rejoice, rejoice, we have no choice"

Parts of Carry On send shivers up my spine. The Eagles song is nice but can't hold a candle to Carry On.

Too tough to call. I will say though that I always enjoyed the live version of Carry On (usually just done as Carry On, not Carry On/Questions)
When CSNY opened with it on the CSNY2K tour it was amazing.
