And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Thought that was a Murry (or Rick Henn?) production?
Either way it IS great!

It's on Pet Projects. The Brian Wilson Productions, so I always presumed Brian produced it. The deep trombones sound very Brian, as doescthe vocal arrangement. Either way, I love this track!

Agreed, the B-side of "goodnight my love" is great too!

Coincidentally, I appreciated this song for the first time yesterday before I saw this thread.

Yeah, it's a great little song.  Brian's production always sounds great in spite of his mental/health condition.

I think the only exception was around 1977. The Love You outtakes' production is truly awful, though the released version of the songs sound fantastic.

I think, without the help of Carl, Love You could've been the worst album he'd ever made.

There was talk about The Honeys album being re-released with extra track including Snowflakes some years ago but the project seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Anyone know what happened to that?

You're thinking of "Come To Me" and "Let's Take A Holiday", respectively. The single "Tonight You Belong To Me"/"Goodnight My Love" was produced by BW.
EDIT: both "Come To Me" and "Let's Take A Holiday" were produced by Murry - the former was also written by Murry, the latter by Rick Henn.

Never heard about this. Did you ever hear anything else about it? Also, was it a Honeys album or a Spring album project? Since the first true Honeys albums didn't get released until the 1980s, the first being 1983's Ecstacy which had no BW or BB involvement and then more importantly 1986's It's Like Heaven which included stuff like "Do Ya", "Had to Phone Ya" and the title track which were originally recorded and presumably intended for Spring.

Apparently, Marilyn was talking about it when she came to GB for the Beach Boys Britain yearly event several years ago.

I was particularly interested because she mentioned the inclusion of bonus tracks previously unreleased and named Snowflakes Fall which I happen to love.

When it never materialized I assumed it was a publishing difficulty but it could have been a host of other reason, too.

Don't know for sure, but it is quite possible Melinda put the big foot down....regardless, would love to see this released as well as a new release of Spring album...two-fer would be super-hot!

I believe Brian arranged the vocals for this song.  The backing track was arranged by Al Kapps.

I love this so much. But whenever I hear it, I do tend to think of this:

(Bernadette Peters and Steve Martin, from The Jerk, 1979. Also a very lovely version, not even a joke! Except for that trumpet...)

PS, I'm sure you get this a lot, but any news on your sessionography?
