On the rare occasions when I get to a beach, I like to float out on the water and think about "'Til I Die." But reality always invades my thoughts and my mind changes the lyric to "I'm a dork on the ocean."
Is there any Beach Boys lyric that your mind always wants to transform into something else?

No matter what, I always hear that line from "Anna Lee, the Healer" as "she kills people with her hands, I'm just one of her many fans".

I won't ever not hear this now thanks When I was a kid I always thought Al was singing "Well since she put me down, I bet I'll do it in my head" on 'Help Me Rhonda' and being a stupid kid I didn't care that it didn't any make sense at all, I just loved the sound of the record. There are more but none I can think of right now.

Oh my, I also got one from Anna Lee. "She can f*** things up for you, just like she did for me"

Not that my mind wants to... but it's impossible for me not to notice how much "little girl" sounds like the N-word in A Thing Or Two. Ever since I read that in the 'misheard vocals' thread, I've been suffering through it (because I like the song). I was really hoping that the stereo remix might help, but it didn't

"Mother May I" would own this thread. Unless you look up the lyrics, you can barely understand what the hell they're singing! Something about turtles?

I Was Made To Love Her. I always hear the background vocals singing, "Hey, hey... you son of a bitch"

I almost fell off my chair laughing. L M A O. This is great stuff. Still giggling. I gotta to listen to these songs....especially "dork on the ocean". that made my day. For me sometimes Carls diction in a dense mix will throw me off. Like in Mess of Help. like "I need a corn for my phone to ring". lol. back in the OLD days. no internet lyric sheets. So you toiled in darkness. ahahahahahaha I've had the lyrics to Rolling Stone's Sway wrong forever. When I saw the real lyrics, I will keep mine.

This isn't technically answering the question as asked, but whenever I hear Dennis doing the bass vocal part to the L.A. Light Album version of Shortnin' Bread, I can't help but think that he's delighting in making it sound as overly sexual as possible.

"I get around Round outta town I'm a roo hoo wee I'll take a roo too throo" Yeah, that chorus was total gibberish to me too until I looked up the words online. I still don't have any idea what "I'm a real cool head" means.

I never mistook it for something else, but when I first listened to "Don't Back Down" I had no idea what Brian's chorus lyrics were:
"You gotta be a little nuahhhh"
"Show 'em now who's guuuh guhhhh"
