Apparently this was his last interview, at the end of 2016.  Kind of reminds me of some of Brian's interviews.

What a huge loss. He was, no, is one of my all time favorite comedians. Even though I was born forty or so years after he began his career in show business, I grew up watching his movies with Dean Martin(I had "At War With The Army" on VHS), and his solo movies. I also watched him do the MDA Telethon often. When I was younger I often dreamed of hosting one with him.  Grin He was one of the last remaining of the "golden age" of comedy.

His son wrote this one about Jerry as I understand:

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I found this today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL-6ZIiwHKY and as I was watching it I thought to myself that Jerry Lewis was probably the last surviving comedian and performer of a certain quality of "showmen". Jerry, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, etc. They're all gone. We probably wont ever again see this kind of talent and entertainment.
