I was thinking about how Bambu was released for Record Store Day this past weekend, and other Beach Boys rarities that could be released next year when I got an idea. What if Brother Records released a limited pressing of Adult Child next year? It isn't very commercially viable as a wide release, but could it be a possibility as a limited release? Record Store Day would do most of the marketing for them, so that wouldn't be as much of a concern either.
I'm fine with the pyramid scheme that is "Record Store Day" being confined to curio alternate packagings of stuff already out there.
I'm guessing one of the main reasons "Bambu" saw a release for RSD was because it was *easy* to do; the material has already been released and it simply needs some cover art and to be pressed up.
If BRI wants to release "Adult Child" (and preferably other archival material), while much more complicated than "Bambu" (which was essentially just a reissue of the second disc of the POB deluxe set), they should do a WIDE release of the material as a digital download and hopefully a physical CD.
If they want to then *also* churn out vinyl pressings and boutique cassette pressings and 10-inch 78 RPM pressings of it, etc. as well, then I would have no problem with it.
