I’ve come to realize that Mike may have inadvertently goofed when he did his Smokey the Bear voice impression in the song “Drive In”.
Here’s a direct timecode link to quickly reference Mike’s impression on “Drive In”:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPRmiRkykgo#t=1m23s
Now’s where it gets weird. Mike was possibly inadvertently channeling Bullwinkle the Moose, which of course was years later often voiced/parodied by Mike’s future Full House costar, Dave Coulier:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5BGpmw0MTE#t=1m40s
Here’s a 1959 Rocky and Bullwinkle commercial, with a direct timecode link to Bullwinkle’s original voice:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSFDMAbQCpE#t=0m25s
And here’s a 1960 Smokey the Bear PSA, which links straight to the “Only you can prevent forest fires” part:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnMsEocNSiU#t=4m19s
I’d say that Mike sounds way more like Bullwinkle/Dave Coulier than Smokey, who he was apparently trying to mimic. Besides the fact that I clearly have too much time on my hands, what does everyone else think?
