3. Joyful but dislike vocals.

Today's song is It's Trying to Say.

Joyful indeed. I dig the bouncy happy feel about it, great backing harmonies as usual and Dennis' gruffy voice is very cool. Another two minutes of fun. FIVE

Today's song is Still I Dream of It.

Any song about Jesus, food and hypnotism has got to be good! The demo is good too if a trifle harrowing, but the slightly changed lyrics in this version are an improvement.

Another song that makes you feel that the darkness is closing in on Brian.

Five.

Today's song is Still I Dream of It.

A very affecting ballad. Such a great delivery from Brian. One of his best from the 1970's. Very moving. FIVE

I like "Deep Purple" in the same vein MUCH better. Yet nobody says it's moving & affecting. They sound alike. Strangely, fans praise SIDOI. Well, to these ears it's boring to the last degree. Edit to grade: 1. Edit to jot down in addition: Full stop.

I think SIDOI is one of Brian's best songs. I'd give it a 5. It's interesting to speculate how it would have been received by the fans had it been released officially at the time.

"HLT" notwithstanding, this is a consistently good to great album. Well worthy of official release in a just world.

Yahoo! Cheesy police

Album = 3. It's got the best of songs, it's got the worst of songs. To paraphrase some great limey Charles Dickens. 3D

Sorry, Watamushi-san. I'm too unfamiliar with this album to vote on it objectively...

Today's song is She's Got Rhythm.

Brian's falsetto sounds a bit strained but I think it's a decent song. It moves along nicely. It's listenable. THREE

What I really like about Al's voice is when he sings the lines, it's very bright, distinct, doesn't slur & there's energy, as if everytime it's the last time he sings song. You'd think Al's vocal perfectionist but no, he's naturally gifted like that. Anyhoo, 5. 3D

Today's song is Come Go With Me.

A highlight of MIU and deserving of becoming a hit. Perhaps they should have released this as the single in '78 instead of Peggy Sue.
