Today we discuss the album Love You as a whole.

I keep saying this... Fact is, it took me a long long while to get to appreciate this album. But one day, this neon light went on in my brain, actually a complete row of neon letters: OUTSIDER MUSIC. As soon as I looked at it in these terms and not as the follow-up to 15BO or to anything else, Love You made perfect sense (whether I'm making perfect sense is another matter, lol). And I've loved it ever since.

Five.

Today we discuss the album Love You as a whole.

I know lots of fans dislike it for different reasons such as Brian's rough voice, the bizarre songs and their subject matter, the production and synthy instruments and whatever else... I cherish this album for those reasons. I'll Bet He's Nice and The Night Was So Young are my two favorite moments on the album, and I love how rockin' Side One is. Pretty much the only thing I never cared for from this album is Ding Dang. Years ago I didn't care for LPOHT and IWPYU but those songs have since grown on me.  I find it to be a fascinating album. Almost a 5, but I gave it 4.

Look here, folks! The best song in the album got 3 5's! 3D

At last, ha, this album's finished being discussed. Seemed like going forever. Hope next time people will listen what *I* say, not who's the uber-popular uber-respected poster, as usual. Wouldn't be skin off you & wouldn't hurt if I'm listened to just single time. OK? Friends?

Now. "Sherry" I like. Brian's 70s voice fits the 60s track like ski glove. 5. 3D Btw, "Sherry" is cooler name than corny "Sandy".

H'mm. I believe this is known as fishing for compliments, RR. Grin

Of course people listen to you! They don't always agree with you, but that's the way of the world.

Today's song is Sherry She Needs Me.

I'm giving Sherry 5 stars. Years ago I got a bootleg LP called The New Album which had Sherry on it. Although the quality was rough I loved it and found it to be a fascinating track. I preferred it over the slick and polished She Says That She Needs Me from Imagination (although I like that one, too...just not as much). When Made In California came out the first track I listened to (over and over) was Sherry. "Sherry don't hate her guts..." always cracks me up  LOL Wonderful stuff. Would've been great on the Love You album, which by the way was a jolly good time discussing these past 2 weeks. Let's do it again sometime   3D

Today's song is You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'

I was going to give it a four before I gave it another listen. Of course you can't compete with the iconic Spector/Medley/Hatfield original! But this is nicely understated----generally I'm no fan of synth-heavy covers of stuff but Brian does himself proud here.

But I'm still going to give it a four. LOL

Today's song is Deep Purple.

It's okay, but Nino Tempo & April Stevens' original is more fun!

Four.
