Carl and the rest of the band(minus Mike) look bored to death.

If they took those tempos any slower, they'd be going backwards. IMO the car medleys were not the highlights of 90s shows.

Maybe the Best Stage Set of All Time with the Original band members ! Then you haven't seen enough Beach Boys concert footage. Of what's available, I'd say this is the very best and it more accurately represents the original band members. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsi3ZUGiG3c

I think the concert footage may be from the Beach Boys Summer replacement TV series from the early 90's. Not 100% sure of that though.

The footage isn't from the 1989 "Endless Summer" show. This looks like 1993-ish indeed (Matt wasn't regularly touring with the band in 1989), and I'm guessing it might be from a UK "30th Anniversary" TV special?
And I would agree it's a rather hokey stage design, and most of the guys indeed often looked bored doing these tracks in the 90s. And yes, they took some of the songs at a rather glacial pace in the era.

It's like the ML solo band. The PS box set and GV set were needed to remind the public of the artistry.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Footage is not from any 30th anniversary in UK....our tv folks were never kind enough. It might be, from the look of it, from a German concert . There is similar footage kicking around.

Yeah, they're pretty low down the list of fashion ideas.

Have no idea what this clip is from, but is absolutely not the 1989 Endless Summer TV series. From the hair on Matt and Al, Matt's singing of the falsetto (he didn't take on that role until 1993 as 1992 was Adrian Baker's last year) and wardrobe (Carl would change his stage ensemble every year. For instance, in 93 he wore the white on black seen in the video, in both 92 and 94 it was all-white; 95 all black. Don't ask how or why I would know this kind of crap but it comes in handy sometimes) I would peg this performance from 1993.

1993 had a flaming volcano for most of the show and the old corvette front end on the car medley... this was an awesome stage set for this year and expensive to produce. In following years the stage sets were cut back more no - thrills. I would love to get this whole show if anyone knows if it's out there ?

https://youtu.be/Cv0cwTnr5PgThe same show I think. Something entitled 'Now' from NBC in 1993.

That nails it down to August 25th 1993, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga NY according to AGD's site. Thanks for this thread! I can now update the info on the Pro Shot Concert List (see my signature)

Sorry man, I don't have it. The list is just thought of as a data bank and doesn't represent any collection of mine. In fact I don't really have something worth of being called a collection

I'm not sure what the YouTube video in question is from, but there was some sort of TV special aired in Europe to ostensibly celebrate their "30th" anniversary. I have it on DVD somewhere (obviously just ripped from an old VHS), and it's from Europe and my recollection is it was the UK, as the thing was in English. I remember this specifically because it seemed odd to celebrate a 30th anniversary in 1993. It may well have aired in the UK but featured footage from concerts in other regions, I'm not sure. Obviously, I need to go back and check this thing out and see how accurate my memory is. One particular moment from some interviews from the documentary that I recall is that Carl gets surprisingly cagey and slightly combative when talking about Brian, basically shutting the whole subject down pretty quickly. I think the interview must have been shot maybe in 1992 or so right around the time Brian was being removed from Landy. Again, I obviously need to watch this thing again. It's so hard these days to pull that old stuff out and really watch it.

Could the Europe TV show be this? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2251515/If so, the release date makes the Saratoga show from the year prior more likely. August 29 1992. Same venue according to a quick search. Only if it is the same show footage of course.
