You guys... I'm all about Dennis right now. I think he was just a super underrated songwriter and singer. I keep thinking what he could have accomplished had things have been different.
I'm still getting my head around all of his BB contributions, and his original work. I've asked for a vinyl copy of Pacific Ocean Blue for Christmas so I'm kind of saving myself to see if that happens... (else I'll acquire it myself)
In the meantime, I'm finding myself a bit obsessed with:
1. (Wouldn't It Be Nice to) Live Again 2. All alone 3. Baby Blue 4. Slip On Through 5. Steamboat 6..Got to Know the Woman 7. Forever 8. Make it Good 9. Sound of Free 10. Little Bird
What are your top 10 Dennis songs (written or sung)?
PS - I apologize if this is already a topic, I searched and didn't see one, so... if this gets merged with another topic, cool)

1. Forever 2. Little Bird 3. Only With You [our 'wedding song'...Carl's version is great too.] 4. River Song 5. Slip On Through 6. Cuddle Up 7. It's About Time 8. Celebrate the News 9. Wouldn't It Be Nice to Live Again 10. Got to Know the Woman. [No exceptions as it turned out. ] -------------------------------------------------------- I have to admit...'cause I didn't think of it 'til right now...I ALWAYS really liked Never Learn Not to Love too. Too terribly bad how THAT got completely spoiled by the events authored by its initial 'composer'...who's name need not be typed in this special thread. But Denny's 'take' in terms of getting that piece all spruced up was terrific.

Off the top of my head: Be Still (so underrated!) 10,000 Years School Girl Moonlight Time (another underrated slab of genius) Slip On Through Morning Christmas It's Not Too Late Baby Blue (added later----how could I forget this one?) River Song (particularly the skull-crunching BB studio version from 1973 (?)): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJeHcHzGyZQ

Me too, I think this is a wonderful song. I can't call it a favourite, but I really do love it. And I can't believe I left Celebrate the News off my list. Womp womp.

Good lists! Glad to see more love for GOT TO KNOW THE WOMAN.
For me, it's impossible to get this list down to just ten.
The BE STILL sampler CD from 2014 is a very nice compilation, but it's missing SAN MIGUEL and GOT TO KNOW THE WOMAN, two songs I would definitely have on my list. Another one that's missing--a much more idiosyncratic choice--is TUG OF LOVE.

This is tough, but I'll try..
River Song (the demo version with kickass guitar) Forever (just beautiful) Moonshine (epic song) Holy Man (brilliant track.. so tragic that no BB vocals exist) Only With You (the version where Denny sings the whole lead) Pacific Ocean Blues (love the end part) Slip On Through (love the shimmering vocals) My Love Lives On (as a dad this gets me a bit teary eyed) Lady (another pretty song) San Miguel (great rocker.. how did the boys not release this?) Wild Situation (another great track and makes me laugh a bit) Tug Of Love (this could have been a great BB track)
This is too hard..
Oh and best Denny vocal.. Wouldn't it be Nice to Live Again

@Don Malcom, I really wish I could like 'Got To Know A Woman' - hopefully over time it grows on me. I just can't seem to get around the repetition of that 'Got To Know A Woman' line

This is too hard It is. But it's a good way of being reminded of Denny tracks that may have passed us by (or been forgotten). It's all in a good cause. :=)

I'm a bit of a sucker for this sort of thing, so I've worked out an aggregated top ten. Each list has 55 points, which are allocated ten to one in descending order if the list is numbered, but divided equally if it's not (if you didn't number your list but meant it to be ordered, say so and I'll revise the result). As you can see, there's seems to be a big three that stand apart from the rest, with nothing to separate them from each other.
River Song (58.7 points, 11 votes) Forever (58.5, 10) Little Bird (58.3, 12) Slip on Through (48.1, 9) Only With You (40.1, 7) It's About Time (39.7, 7) Wouldn't it Be Nice To Live Again (28.8, 7) Baby Blue (25.2, 5) Lady (23.3, 4) Time (22.5, 4)
I'll do an update if we get a few more new entries.

This is a fun thread, it got me thinking about exactly what all the Denny tracks were! I am sure I forgot some. I can't believe nobody's listed Do You Wanna Dance yet, that was pure rockstar and an ultimate Denny moment! 1. Cuddle Up 2. (Wouldn't It Be Nice) To Live Again 3. Little Bird 4. Do You Wanna Dance 5. Dreamer 6. You And I 7. It's Not Too Late 8. Slip On Through 9. San Miguel 10. Got To Know The Woman
