Both of those songs were written by John Phillips. I found his original versions of the songs. In my opinion they are both better then the Beach Boys versions.

Agreed. Just more scathing evidence of what happens to a song when myKe luHv gets involved.

I might be the minority here, but I actually prefer The Beach Boys' versions.

Actually I like the Beach Boys versions better too,,,,although his version of Kokomo is kind of cool,,,,IMO SNJ isn't even close,,,

The BB SNJ is much better. Love their vocals.
I like the lyrics better on the original Kokomo. They have more meaning than the BB version. Totally different vibe to the song.
