Below is the schedule for Brian's 2017 tour, which thus far will be an additional leg of his "Pet Sounds" tour.

Indications are that Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin will once again be joining this tour.

Additional dates will be added as they are announced. If you know of any additional dates (they often appear elsewhere online before Brian's website announced them), please post here and let us know, and I'll add it to the schedule. I suspect more dates will be added to fill in some of the gaps on the schedule.

It looks like a lot of new markets/venues on this leg, and some repeats from 2016.

Also note: For the sake of keeping all the future live dates in one place, I've gone ahead and included a few *very early* announcements for 2018 shows which, so far, do not appear to be "Pet Sounds" shows.

That's incredible. I'm glad so many more people will have the chance to see this tour. We'll see if they actually honor the "final performances" label this time. I'm going to pass on the three near me (Hershey, DCx2). The show at The Strathmore was perfection in the way that only Brian can deliver it. If that's the last time I see him, I'd like to remember it as such. Plus, all three of those shows are weeknights near the end of the semester and two are big rehearsal nights for me...and getting to The Lincoln Theatre in DC is a total pain too.

But if there is somehow anybody left on this board that has not seen this man doing this show live yet, GO!!!  Grin

Wow. I almost don't know what to think! One the one hand i'm really happy that all those people who haven't had a chance to see Pet Sounds Live will now get the chance. But the other part of me selfishly wishes Brian could spend more time working on another album, and if anything he probably deserves a rest from touring. (At least for a little longer)

Oh, he'll rest.. He only has 3 shows between Halloween 2016 and the end of March 2017.

How great is it that when Brian changes his mind to do some more touring, he doesn't have to be met with consternation of "you said no changeees!" from a bandmate, like in C50.

More power to Brian, I'm so very glad to see this second wind he is getting.

If anybody's looking for the password for the Phoenix (Celebrity Theatre) presale, it's VIBRATIONS.  (Apparently not case-sensitive.)  It might work for other shows (if any) promoted by Danny Zelisko.

Got Orlando VIP pass today - It says no personal items to be signed. Has it always said that, and if so are they strict on it?

Got Orlando VIP pass today - It says no personal items to be signed. Has it always said that, and if so are they strict on it?

I hadn't looked into VIP for this new set of dates since nothing was near me. Here is what it says on the website for the newly released dates:

Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary VIP Meet & Greet Package - $499 per package

One Premium Reserved General Admission Ticket (depending on venue configuration)
Early Entry
First access merch shopping
Exclusive Soundcheck Experience
Meet & Greet with Brian Wilson
Individual photo with Brian Wilson
One signed copy of I Am Brian Wilson: A Memoir
One commemorative VIP laminate

Please Note: VIP Meet & Greet patrons will receive a signed copy of I Am Brian Wilson: A Memoir, please do not bring any other memorabilia to be signed.

Based on this, I would say they are going to stick to giving each person a signed copy of his book and leave it at that. His people seem to be constantly changing the rules for these meet & greets. From recent memory:

NPP Tour - Love & Mercy sheet music signed and one personal item
PS Tour - God Only Knows sheet music signed and PS Tour poster signed (e-mail prior to concert stated no outside items in addition to VIP items - in practice, you could get any two items signed)

I don't think we will know how they handle guests until the next leg of the tour starts. I wouldn't be surprised if they went to pre-signed books...

Awesome, this is what should have happened with the C50 tour, going into the next year.  The Newark show is my dad's birthday and we're totally going.

Another show in Seattle.  I just went to one a couple of days ago and now a new one announced.  This is really crazy.  I hope he is still going to work on the new album.

I can't see the new album being a priority for Brian's people. The albums don't sell, the concerts do. Brian will be touring for a long time to come; instead of PS next year, though, they should be doing BWPS.

Yesterday I put in my order for two tickets for the show in Milwaukee.  The Riverside Theater's website wasn't giving me very good seating choices, so I called the box office and got seats that I am pleased with.  Front row of the balcony, so no one will be standing or dancing in front of me.  I'm all for rock n roll and everything, but I'm 60 years old with bad knees and I can't Dance Dance Dance like I used to.  I'm excited.

The whole "standing vs. sitting" thing has been hashed out in a myriad of other threads, but I think for the most part as we're paying for "reserved" seating rather than general admission bare-floor seating, I think it's appropriate to be able to actually sit and watch the show for the most part.

The show I caught on Wednesday was pretty much as good as it gets; a few moments for standing ovations, but sitting throughout the show. The audience did all stand for the full encore set, which I'm okay with. But I've been at other shows where one guy in the front row has to stand for *everything*, and thus I find myself standing for the entire show including during slow ballads and delicate acoustic numbers.

And this isn't just to take an extra dig, as I've complained about this for several years, but I don't miss Scott Bennett egging the audience on to stand about 1/3 into the set. He's done that at shows where I've then of course been forced to stand for the entire rest of the concert.

Brian Wilson Presents Carl and the Passions: So Tough

Merry Christmas from Brian Wilson (for the 40th anniversary of the 77 album)

Though, I'd rather go for the Surf's Up/Landlocked Tour...

If they were to do any album that isn't very well known to casual fans, I bet it would be Wild Honey - it's pretty short and they could probably fit it in half of a set.
