Just played "Barefootin'" by Robert Parker, who just passed away at the age of 89.
This was his only hit - made the top 10 in 1966 in the US and also charted in the UK. He was primarily a sax player and played on numerous hits for performers down in these parts including Fats Domino.

I was thinking of "Barefootin'" only this morning!

I didn't know his history. I must look at his wiki page for examples of his sax work.

Sad news--although 89 is a good age (it's a cliché, I know, but still). Thanks for letting us know, E.

R.I.P., Mr Parker.

"Baltimore" is my all-time favourite Randy Newman song. It comes from his 1977 album Little Criminals, which I must dig out and revisit some time. See the wiki page for the lineup.

This is for JH, wishing her good luck in all her endeavours.
