a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Here's a link to the film on IMDB:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206507/

I've never seen or heard of it before, but it apparently played on American TV in 1999.

As I recall, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge (the guys from Blink 182) were not actually credited as Jan & Dean in the movie. I don't think they're even referred to as Jan & Dean in the movie . . . and I think they had them singing "Dead Man's Curve" in New York. The reference is obvious, but I think the credits were something like "Surfer Singer #1" and "Surfer Singer #2") . . . though the song DMC has nothing to do with surfing.

Odd scene . . . standing by a piano, singing with no mikes, etc.

No movie has ever been made that accurately depicts Jan & Dean in a studio / recording situation.
