Overall good,

But I'd have to make room for Kiss Me Baby and Sail On Sailor.

Forgot! I'll probably find a way to get those two on there. The setlist already stuffs 2 CDs.

I'd ditch BTTYS, BA , Lady Linda, and SIP (live) and add Lonely Sea, Our Car Club, Be Still, WIBNTLA, and Pacific Coast Highway.
What kind of person is this mix for?

I'd drop Barabara Ann, Hang on to your ego, Lookin' at Tomorrow and SIP live.  In their place:  Little Girl I Once Knew, Vegetables (stereo mix from MIC), Slip On Through (need more Dennis), and Marcella.

It's for the casual fan. I put songs like Barbara Ann (and BTTYS, either though i use what i consider the far superior album version) on this because i wanted to have the hits on here. SIP (Live 1993) is on here becuase it's a guilty pleasure of mine.

I'd add "Baby Blue" and "Where I Belong". If I had to ditch anything, it'd be "Welfare Song".

Interesting. I still think there are many better, early(ish) tracks that even the most casual fan would enjoy more than BA. Something about that track seems to erase all of the beautiful progress the band was making up to that point and that is very jarring to me. I understand it was a hit, but i advocate against it!  Wink

It's darn near impossible to make a definitive 2 CD Beach Boy compilation.

When I was first getting into the group a few years ago, I started with the companion CDs - Sounds of Summer and Warmth of the Sun.

I think your biggest omission is Let Him Run Wild. But you have We'll Run Away on it, so you earn points for that.  Smiley
