I'm new to the forum, and would like to start my first thread with a silly question, that may have been asked before? What are you're favorite songs/albums you listen to whilst under the influence? Mine are:

Cabin Essence
Good Vibrations
Don't talk
Walk on by (BBoys cover)
Future Games, Emerald Eyes (Fleetwood Mac)

Hi, u-m. :=)
Hey! john k, I've missed chatting with you! But you know I'm always visiting that "What are you listening to now thread."

Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, "Never Make Me Cry" also works well here. Paradoxically, the song makes you want to cry.

Well, I look in regularly "across the road" myself and occasionally discover interesting things to listen to (recently a k.d. lang album).

I must give that FM song a listen when the time is right...

The Live at Pompeii version of "Echoes" is *excellent*...great pick. That bassline and beat just..man...it can take you to another place.

Pacific Ocean Blue and Dreamer both sound real freaking good on certain substances. Or just sober. But especially under the influence.

I love the original but this is superb too----my goodness:

Perhaps I've misjudged TI and should give them a serious try. Which one album would you suggest, M?

I used to (back in the day) listen to Fleetwood Mac's "Hypnotized" creatively.  Wink

Yeah, if Kevin were to cover any Fleetwood Mac song, it should and is this one. (the original is fantastic, too.)

Lonerism is my favorite out of the three. Kevin is able to translate his feelings of introversion into distorted guitars and dreamy synths. "Apocalypse Dreams," "Mind Mischief," & "Keep on Lying" are particularly good tracks.

Innerspeaker sounds more like '70s classic rock to me, while Currents is a Parker's electronic endeavor. I suppose I like Currents second best, although I'm not in love with every track on it. "Let it Happen" is probably the second best song of 2015.

I'll stop before someone asks me to move over to the General Music Discussion sub forum  Grin

Excellent choice there, Mari. I've certainly listened to enough stuff when "blazed" in the past (Captain Beefheart regrettably being the first to spring to mind) but not 'Trane. I should imagine hearing Elvin Jones's broadside of toms and cymbals at the close of the title track when one's ripped must feel like World War Three just broke out. LOL
