The picture in the video is cool-----apparently which is a photo from the concert right before that performance.

I've always been fascinated by the fact that everyone at the party is so in awe with Brian's gift...just a plain shirt with his name on it!

That's just more of the wonky editing from the "An American Band" documentary. I don't think that audio matches the footage. Not sure why they dubbed it that way (I've thought the same thing you were).

Costa Mesa, 1983. Featuring a VERY sad version of You Are So Beautiful sung by Dennis. Skip to around 1:04:00 for the dennis part. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz3LhcpMGQs

This must of been a row of last concerts with Dennis before his death, wow! A very powerful, but as you stated, a very sad version of YASB. Thanks for sharing this!

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.- Lester Bangs on The Beach Boys PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LISTTo sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.- Jack Rieley

Immediately preceded by an almost equally sad version of It's Just a Matter of Time. The ending is so bad it's funny...

The Dennis and Brian performances were first seen in the 1985 American band documentary. It's not as good as Alan Boyd's 1998 endless harmony documentary but does have some footage not in the other one.

This must of been a row of last concerts with Dennis before his death, wow! A very powerful, but as you stated, a very sad version of YASB. Thanks for sharing this! Wow. Just wow. That is so soul-crushingly sad hearing Denny this way. Amazing to hear the unedited version with the stage banter before the performance, after only having seen the edited live video previously. It messes with my mind a bit to hear Denny talking about Landy during the Landy II era (which only briefly overlapped with his own lifetime), and also weird to think of Denny being at a show where a song from The BB85 album (It's Just a Matter of Time) was performed.

Damn, Marilyn aged really well! That's my video of the HQ Awake demo BTW. I got that off of Woodstock's "Hawthorne Sunset" compilation, where he got that from I don't know. His version is shorter than the more well-known bootleg release, so I had to extended it myself. I guess the bootleg releases of the song were extended as well!
