To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Posted this one accidentally on the "picture"-thread...

Excerpts from the 4th of July 1988 special at /Disney World. The Beach Boys perform / playback Wipe Out and Kokomo.
Wipe Out with the Fat Boys btw (who decided NOT to playback)

It's amazing how great the band sounds doing the Pet Sounds concerts, its so lush and has the spirit of the Wall of Sound. So how come the Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds Live cd sounds so horrible? The music/band on the cd is sounds really spare and in the background.

Regarding your Wild Honey video on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkKqL0fTsu8)---do you have footage of the song that Keith Moon sat in on? I'd love to see that!

Unfortunately, I have only this clip. I think Keith Moon & Elton played on "Help Me, Rhoda". Maybe someone here can help out...
