While checking out Wilsonart1's Dennis homage, Black Hills Gold on Youtube, I ran across this - probably been posted before, but didn't find it in the search - so here it is for any who are interested:  Dennis and Carly Munoz playing a Backgammon match Tongue

Brian Wilson - The Making of Imagination (1998)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DbEhKihOsI
This is great! Ever since I read about the subject, I wanted to see it but at the time there's no video on YT. Luckily, it's been a good trend lately that lots of BB-related stuff had been uploaded there. I was totally floored by the performances, "In My Room" was beautiful, with all the guests. My favorite scene is where Timothy B. Schmit, Chris Cross & Co. have a blast singing BW tune in a checking-room. And now I gained a newly-found appreciation for the album, specifically songs I wasn't fond of - "South American", "Your Imagination" & "Cry". Brian looks cool in those screen clips going along his live singing, very tastefully done. It's all the more good that there was little fluff (his old days with The BBs, drugs, Landy) & more concentration on making the current music (studio/concert snippets/views of other artists on the man). What next... lovely footage of Melinda & their children (small at the mo'), nice kitchen. Basically, to sum it all up, this may be one of, if not THE best doc on Brian as a composer. Besides, it's filled with friendliness & he seemed so enthusiastic on stage during that time frame, it's a real eye candy. Thanks, hal.

CMA Music Festival 1996

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfISF08SpD8

with Brian (!) "I get around" from Stars & Stripes. But it has a very nice acapella outro!

"The Beach Boys perform I Get Around with Sawyer Brown at the CMA Music Festival Awards in 1996. The Beach Boys spent the entire week of June 10-15, 1996 in Nashville for "Fan Fair", making several TV and Live appearances to promote their Stars & Stripes album that was being released later that summer."

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I remember when I first heard there was a documentary to the Imagination album, I was so enthused to watch it! Live performances of She Says that She Needs Me and South America? That's flipping great! I wish SSTSNM became a concert staple in Brian's career, he needs a slower concert staple tune as such. It's cool seeing Paul Mertens play at the gig, way before being a valuable member of Brian's backing band. I also wish Your Imagination and South America would have ALWAYS been concert staples, they have been in setlists in th past (Your Imagination more frequent and recent.)

I wish every Brian Wilson solo album had a DVD like the That Lucky Old Sun dvd, with live performances from the time the album was released, performances of album tunes in concert, studio footage, interviews, etc. I guess just having the Imagination, BW Presents Smile, and TLOS DVDs are good enough.

I remember that GIOMH had a short EPK (Electronic Press Kit) to promote the album as shown by this snapshot:

http://web.archive.org/web/20040630050015/http://www.brianwilson.com/index.html#

Brian's eponymous '88 album had a TV documentary of sorts created by Cover Story, part 1 of which used to be on YouTube.

Thanks! I never knew background footage of the Baywatch performance existed.
Interesting to see David at the end when all talk about that it would be better to let the Beach Boys' name rest. I don't remember David ever commenting on that topic.

And it also shows how much of a miracle it was to have the Beach Boys back in 2012 for one final time. Who in the early 2000s could've thought that would happen?

OMG, but what about those terrible Adrian Baker (like?) snippets in there? My my, that's so disgusting...

Lot's of cool stuff recently. You've probably heard these before, but if you haven't : here they are. These are my favorites.

http://youtu.be/T85z5CeRuBY - "My Little Red Book." The description says it was recorded in 1968, probably around the same time as "Walk On By."

http://youtu.be/NAGARvThO58 - "Daddy Dear/ Susie Cincinnati (Demo)." Daddy Dear sounds interesting. Susie Cincinnati isn't as good quality wise, but still neat to hear.

http://youtu.be/q8bTemM60hg - "Surf's Up (Live in Tampa, 1974)." Only live version I've seen on YouTube other than the one from Princeton. This one is slightly better quality. Cool jam at the end.

http://youtu.be/DMEmq30uhKM - "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) [Live in Tampa, 1974]." Very rare live version of the song. I've wanted to hear this version ever since I read about the song being preformed live. Very cool.
