I found a version of I've Got A Friend. This recording has probably the best sound quality of all the versions I've heard. I've said it before and I'll say it again, to me it sounds like parts of this song became Holy Man. Listen from 2:56 and on until the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBCZhEr3_no

does have a Holy Man feel to it.. mind you Dennis was used to reusing "feels" that he likes just like his brother does. Is it the same? no I don't believe so.. but very similar. :-)

Awesome!!! Thank you for uploading it! I've never heard it before. The sound quality wasn't that bad. I wish the recording of Slip On Through sounded better.

I have heard a version of Vegetables from some kind of tv show. I remember that they were being interviewed while they were actually playing an intro to the song, and it seemed to go on forever because whoever it was didn't seem to want to stop talking long enough for them to play it.

I've seen this exact same appearance, but in the version I saw, the group mimed to a live recording from Philly 1980. I'm confused. Unless they mimed a third song, and that was the live recording.

According to Bobby Figueroa (Collignon, 1981, p. 1), he was on his way to the laundry when he was called to take Dennis' place. Collignon, B. (1981). A rap with Bobby Figueroa. BBFUN Newsletter, 6(2), 1.

I think that Dennis grew to hate those types of appearances. I would have too, miming to songs that were 20 years old already.

Somebody uploaded a concert of the group in Japan from 1966. Man, listen to those drum fills! Dennis was and still a really underrated drummer, especially from early on in the group's career. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0FVgRs9IJo

Yet he appeared on Dick Clark's 30th anniversary of American Bandstand miming to the Beach Boys medley, and here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3PdP7ikQZM

Here's a great BW show from November 2000 at BB King's New York. I was really surprised with how many high notes he hit. He NAILED You Still Believe In Me, and Don't Talk(Put Your Head On My Shoulder). He gives a rather thorough description of the origins of Sloop John B. He also sing the opening line of the song in a higher key than usual. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In4y5x3qsV4

Earthbound, the game we talked about some weeks back that has a sample of Deirdre is now on the WiiU eShop for $9.99. Beats paying $200+ for the cart. I got my cart for $20 back in the late 90's though
