I never heard of that song before..... and it's pretty good. I wouldn't mind a copy of that song in my collection. Happy New Year everyone.

Excellent find! He's also got a version of "Out in the Country" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwvD_E-s2iESays he's the co-writer with Brian. Anyone know anything about Don Goldberg? I've never heard of him.

Yeah, this is pretty huge, and should have its own topic on the main board. I've never heard of the guy, but I contacted him through his Youtube channel and told him that if he has time he should come over to the board and post about the songs.

This really needs it's own thread - almost feel as if it's one of those wierd dreams you have ("hey, here's an unreleased Beach Boys track that you've never even known existed!), but it sounds like much of the instrumental backing is re-recorded much later than 1970, especially the synth organs and the drum sound. Maybe it is an M. Love demo? I can't identify any particular Beach Boys in the b/g vox, those probably could have been done by anybody.
Either way, that's a pretty cool Mike Love vocal right there.

Interesting find! I think I can hear Brian in the background vocals. Maybe Stephen Desper has some infos about this. I wonder if this stuff will be on "Made in California"

Seems like it's had some modern overdubs (drum fills) but that is definitely Mike Love circa 1970 on lead vocals.

Stephen Kalinich has commented on this video. Thank you Kevin for recording this.It was the first song I wrote with Dennis and came out in 1968 on the FRiends album. There ar some lyrics left out for the Beach Boys version that are in my original version. I love this song. As i heard you and watched the video it brought back the day i wrote the lyric and left it on the piano for Dennis to set to music. It was afternoon on Sunset Blvd. A grand day and i love dennis and miss him in the flesh. This song was a blessing for me. stevie kalinichI am almost 71 now and still very active and writing every day but it is not every day i get an opportunity like this. This seems to be an interview with Al, Brian, and Mike. The soundtrack apperently didn't survive. Al and Brian can be seen drinking straight from the bottle. What a strange time period for them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTKQ36th1dA

Ida Blackburn interviews the Beach Boys in 1964 before an Oklahoma concert. Awesome concert footage at the beginning of the video, but there's no audio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z4N4BSs4Ic

But it's new to me, so... This whole show is available on Amazon Digital! Go to Beach Boys "Albums" and you'll eventually scroll to it after various one-off cheapies and "Beach Boys Karaoke" junk. The cover is some awful generic thing with a picture of them from like 1964. Can't remember what the title of the thing is, but it's something lame like "Beach Boys Classic Collection"
