Thanks for sharing!!! I too have been waiting about a year for that one. Fantastic stuff!
I've been listening to God Only Knows constantly over the last few days - this is the icing on the cake for that binge!

Wow, wish he sang that when I saw him. He seems so engaged doing deep album cuts instead of the hits.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

That whole clip is worth it just for the audience member that goes "yeah!" at around 39 seconds in.

I considered contacting BRI about such an idea earlier this year and even authored a DVD for them to sample, but got cold feet once rumblings of The Smile Sessions hit the net. I figured they had their hands full with other projects. And I'm also not entirely sure what their reaction would be.

Really dug the drum beat they put under it.
Girl Talk used God Only Knows on one of his tracks, put a breakbeat under it. Sounded cool.

Though some who don't go to the General Music thread might enjoy these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q4Dm8ixBws&feature=feeduThis is a medley that I think is pretty cool and good. Though some lyrical liberties are taken, this is a very early nod to the importance of Pet Sounds considering it's by an American group who rose to fame after The Beach Boys U.S. charts peak. While Pet Sounds was already a classic in Europe, I must give The First Edition kudos for realizing it's quality years before it became hip. Co-leader Terry Williams was the instigator behind doing this by the way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyoaHFkVGpgThis is a good cover of Disney Girls. I think you can see why I as a Beach Boys fan like this group so much.

Nothings as good as the boys originals but this was a fresh new take.

Surf's Up, a capella. The coda's always blown my mind in a big, big way- hearing the vocals on their own adds yet another dimension to this amazing song. Shame the sound quality's so muddy. I don't recall hearing this elsewhere; are the Surf's Up vocals in circulation among pirates and ne'er-do-wells? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uyR8jwdQd0
