The video sucks*, but I've always thought this was a really good song. Possibly the last great Beach Boys song.

The song is alright, its just how they became self parodies of themselves in Michael Edward Love's vision of heaven that is really sad to watch .

One of Brian's best leads, probably THE best after his years in bed.....

If they ever make a Biopic of Brian, they could make this performance  an episode of an example of Landy's controlling ways during the late 1980s.

I've always found this period from 83-85 fascinating, because he was in great shape and wasn't really slurring his words yet.

Notice that it gives a  link to a website that apperently owns the footage, or at least hold the rights to the footage. I wonder just how much of this show was filmed. Maybe one of us should look into it. I think I remember reading that Brian performed this song at a few 1983 shows when Dennis was still alive.

I haven't followed the Smile promos much, but it was kinda cool to see Brian in the control room, even with no sound:

To bad it's not at the right speed though. I love the not so subtle way Al flips off the camera.

I think the interview with Brian from '76 talking about Love You  is my favourite from that site: "I want to call the album 'Brian's In Love'".

Most i have heard out of Brian in an interview ever, really shows that Brian was clearly in good shape when he made Love You and made "hey little tomboy" sound like a heart warming song. Grin

I never thought I'd hear him talk at length about Friends, Sunflower, Holland, different approaches to production, the fairy tale (not to mention yet another fairy tale!), Hey Little Tomboy... That footage is priceless and it's a joy to see.
Now back to "The Disney people approached us" and "I like God Only Knows because it's Paul McCartney's favorite song"... Undecided
