Easily the best "stereo" version I've heard. It's too bad the multi-track is missing or gone. That "oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" in both channels? Man...that'd be heaven.

I don't even remember how I stumbled across their version, but I love it. I can see why Brian does too (aside from having a crush on Zooey)!

Leaving off the "hum-de-dum" section in 1966 has to be one of the biggest mistakes in pop history. I love this song as much as anyone but I think it would've been even MORE of a stunner if the final product would've included that little bit of extra genius.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.- Lester Bangs on The Beach Boys PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LISTTo sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.- Jack Rieley

There are some things in this Heroes and Villains mix that I have never heard before. Especially in the Child Is The Father Of The Man part, coming from the left speaker channel. My initial thoughts are that it's a fake. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBeaSides#p/u/21/5l-4483v0wA

Been posted for the first time on Youtube late last year. Utterly amazing, yes! Love the interview part at the end, the boys asking about french words and their reaction to "ice cream".

Sorry for double posting, but... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxnWvfJ1Q6EPretty interesting, since I think I've never seen a TV report about that mid-90's lawsuit. But the end of the clip... jeez, Mike! Is that 'real'?

But the end of the clip... jeez, Mike! Is that 'real'? That footage is wrong in so many ways. Mike on GV: "I wrote all the words." - WTF? (What I always wanted to know: who wrote the 'I love the colorful clothes she wears, and the way the sunlight plays upon her hair...' part? Mike? Tony Asher? Or Brian? It's one of my favourite pieces of Beach Boys lyrics). And Mike on writing about all the surfing spots - didn't Brian write the lyrics to Surfin' U.S.A. with the list provided by the surfing brother of his then-girlfriend? Even if Mike changed around a few things for the sake of recording/performing it I wouldn't call that 'songwriting'. Also.... "I'm the surfboard man.... so gimme some doo [?]!". The real surfer in the band would never have said that. Interesting clip nonetheless...

That crying bit was so bad it was laughable. The crying he did on a Landy related interview, hoever, I believe was genuine.

This is the funniest ever. Some young BB groupie somehow got to hang with the Mike and Bruce beach boys backstage. She even has a video tribute to Mike. http://www.youtube.com/user/jackieleep#p/u/2/pXUZVQt8JvQ

You gotta wonder who in their right mind would pan over to a nearly naked Mike Love when you've got a completely naked Dennis just slightly to your left!
