i'm sure this has been posted before but here is the 1965 TV Medley in it's entirety.. long tall texan is too much  Grin  and also during help me rhonda: "let's go!!" -brian "take off brian!" -mike Smiley
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlkcrQ-pej0&feature=related

Is that Mike Love doing "the moonwalk" at the 6:02 mark of "Help Me Rhonda"?

And, are those cheerleaders dancing around to "Help Me Rhonda"? And the guys approved that? Curously, Al didn't seem to mind, smiling broadly.

"Long Tall Texan" and "Please Let Me Wonder", two interesting choices for a televised performance.

Great find! I want those complete rehearsals on DVD. That is one of favorite periods of The Beach Boys, so interesting....

Wow, the contrast between the 65 medley clip and the Love You tour rehearsals clip is astounding.  It's sad; it actually looks like they're having a whale of a time in the 65 clip.  Lots of eye contact between the band members and the TV smiles even seem genuine.  Check out the concert footage from 77: Mike the frontman reigns supreme and everyone else looks like they're dreaming of the paycheck.  It suddenly occured to my why Brian was situated so oddly at the end of the stage during this peroid.  Look at how Brian looks to Denny at the 7:00 minute mark.  Dennis looks back and smiles; a genuine display of brotherly affection.  I'm sure that being able to look at Dennis calmed a bit of the fear that plagued Brian during these concerts.  Thanks to the posters; I enjoyed both of those clips immensely.

I wish that narrator wasn't talking over the ENTIRE VIDEO. That rehearsal footage is amazing.

Here's something interesting...Brian's piano demo from Inside Pop but...with him singing the beginning of the second verse! (audio only on that part)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LObI38QxLTE

When I try to view it, YouTube displays a message saying "this video is private."  How do you get to it?

When I click the link it goes to a sort of default home page with the pinkish banner near the top saying: This video is private.
It doesn't even mention whose video it is, the username or anything.

Anyway, on the subject of this snippet of Surf's Up - did the original broadcast of the show air the entire performance of the song? The clip floating around just abruptly starts with the "Brian Wilson's Home..." writing. I read somewhere that the original reels are lost or holed up somewhere at a studio - why haven't any fanatical fans gone down there with weapons ready to take lives for this stuff?!!!! If it's ever found it will surely be the Holy Grail of Beach Boys rare material.

When it was posted here, I had no problem watching it. Now it says it is private, so yes, I guess you have to become friends with him.

BTW anyone got that picture at 0:11 in good quality?

Did Murry write those? I vaguely recall that he produced this band or something to spite his kids but I forgot the details.

Both songs are written by The Sunrays´ singer/drummer Rick Henn and produced by Murry Wilson & Don Ralke.

I like the chorus a lot. Almost makes me smile as goofy as the guys in the video. Sometimes I feel inclined to agree with Murry, that he was a genius too.

I thought "Andrea" was written by Murry?

Rick Henn:
"After “Car Party” Murry came in and said, “All you guys are songwriters. You know about the music of this era.
You know how to play your instruments. You know what’s happening. Everybody write songs this week. We’ll come
back next week. We’ll audition them. The best ones, we’ll take them to the studio. That’s how it’s gonna be.” So I was
just stupid enough to believe him, and I sat down and I wrote “I Live For The Sun” and “Andrea” and three or four other
songs, and we played ‘em, arranged ‘em and boom! All of a sudden it’s bubbling under. It’s on the ‘hot hundred.’"

The credit on the record says Rick Henn, bmi.com says Rick Henn (BMI Work #41498). Though you´ll also find a Murry written "Andrea" on bmi.com (BMI Work #41502).

Thanks for the info Christian. I'm not all that familiar with the Sunrays stuff and I don't own the song or anything so I couldn't just look at the record. And yes it was the BMI database that made me think Murry wrote it. I mean I wouldn't of though it was likely that they both would have written a song titled "Andrea"?
