Some of you probably know it, but I just heard it fo the first time. The Boss and "When I grew up"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=065RP-yxEeI&feature=related

I think it's a great version and you just get aware how good the lyrics to this song are

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Hearing Bruce sing "When I Grow Up to be a Man" with that affected twang of his was painful!  That's worse than a medley of "Battle Hymn of the Republic," Sweet Insanity's "Hotter" and "Problem Child" on hourly rotation!  Sorry, but Bruce just affects me that way. Grin   I need to wash my ears out with something funky pretty now...

Are you kidding me?! That was great. The Boss ruled that song!

Good find, Rocker. I never knew Springsteen performed that song, and I enjoyed it. Before I heard it, I was expecting a full-blown E Street Band Spectorian version, but this was kind of poignant. I especially enjoyed hearing The Boss singing Mike Love's lyrics. They fit perfectly.

I'll give $100 to whoever can tell me what Beach Boys song this sounds like. I'll give you a hint: pay close attention to the melody of the verses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Nrsq9dVL70&feature=related

It sounds a little like Being With The One You Love which was the flip of the Melt Away 45.

Yeah, they were starting to peak.

I love the part when the host asks Mike, "What is surfing, is it a sport or a kind of music?" Mike is just about ready to go off on the guy with a "What are you, an a--hole or something?". But he gets himself under control at the last second.

Yep!  Grin It freaked me out when I heard it! Of all the Beach Boys references to make, who would have though Mike would have done one relating to SMiLE?  LOL

Well, Mike just sang on it, I guess Adrian Baker did write the song and produced it (actually this is the only Baker-song that I like).
