Brian gets embarrassed talking about "Goin' On" and the creative process.  Great Carl and Brian moment - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mbe6XiW_DE

One of my very favourite Brian moments on film: "I like food.". And Carl's genuine love for his brother.

Brian sounds quite lucid. Not as strange as he sounds nowadays from time to time in interviews. I know that has been mentioned more than once but I just had to say that again. He looks like a wreck though...

BTW do you know what song Brian and Mike were working on in the video?

Hey Rocker, they're working on "Goin On" at the piano in that clip.  Think of the "When in the morning..." line, and you'll hear it in the piano.

Absolutely. Even when Brian was at a low point, he had personality. After the horrible cocktail of drugs Landy put him on, the personality emerged less and less, to the point where Brian often seemed like a zombie.

Nice documentary.  have to wonder:
Did they have top go back to the San Diego Zoo to get more live shots of that Giraffe?  ( and how long do Giraffes live, anyway?)
If Bruce was with them at the Zoo, why didn't he get to be on the PS cover?
It has that shot of the surfin' sheet music, that no-one seems to have ever seen before or since.
was al running naked thru the field?

Contractually Bruce couldn't appear with them on a front cover until 1967. He was also on the Summer Days photo shoot (that Al missed) but they couldn't use his photos then, either.

Actually, Bruce Johnston made his debut appearance on an album sleeve with the Party! album. Then the Pet Sounds album. The photo session outtakes reveal a little more obviously that it's him. Columbia missed it!  Cheesy

P.S. If you look hard enough, Bruce is also on "The Little Girl I Once Knew" single picture sleeve.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

I'm not sure but I think he wasn't allowed to be on the front cover. Pet Sounds and Party had him on the back

Man, Brian looked so weird during this period. His facial expressions, etc. He didn't look like himself, if that makes any sense.

Wow, me too. At times, he sounds totally indistinguishable from his 60s voice, then at times exactly like he does now, and only occasionally like what I usually associate with his late 80s/90s voice. (If that doesn't prove the theory of his gruffness being a stylistic change, nothing will) He seems totally out of it, mentally, though. *cough*Landy*cough*

The man was a handsome motherf---er in those days though
