The Fendertones have really good backing tracks and really good backing vocals but their lead vocals ruin it for me. so tame, so boring.

Thanks! I think it was pretty rare that Adrian Baker and Matt Jardine were on a Beach Boys stage together

Yeah, July 4th from Philadelphia, PA. It rained for most of the concert. During "Surfer Girl",  Mike Love danced with Midge Rendell, the wife of then Mayor Of Philadelphia Ed Rendell.

Great, thanks! Now I can update the Pro Shot Concerts list.
Nice to see them having a surfboard with Dennis' name on it. How long did they have those boards on stage? Did they still have them when David returned and have one with his name? But listening to WIBN it just occured to me again how much they were rushing through the songs.

The Tokens cover Don't Worry Baby.

Only cover I've heard where the singer actually goes in and out of falsetto in the right spots as per the original. Maybe my favorite cover of the song.... although it's hard to top Billy Joel's version at Radio City in 2001 at the BW Tribute.

Well done by Tom Hanks. But it just shows you how much damage all this Full Hounse connection has done to the Beach Boys afterwards. Back then it might've been cool and certainly helpful. But in retrospect... and some of them are still hanging on to it...

So this was a full length concert then? Was it shown on tv? I'm pretty sure that when these videos were on YouTube a few years ago it was said that this was Farm Aid. I figured they did three or four songs and left. I'd love to see the whole thing. I think that this was kind of a turning point for the group. Carl is starting to look...well, not like Carl.  Cry

Also, not sure who's seen this, but Bruce nails the falsetto in Fun Fun Fun at around 33:55
He looks, and sounds like he's hitting it with ease.

Yes, it was the full concert. I left a 4th of July cookout early to go home and videotape it. I haven't watched it in a while. This is what I remember:

It was broadcast on Channel 6 in Philadelphia. It was raining pretty hard. I think Bruce had a towel on part of his keyboard. Al (or maybe Carl?) kept motioning to the sound man that there was something wrong with his mic (or guitar?) at the beginning. They showed then Mayor Ed  Rendell in the audience and, as I mentioned, Mike slow danced with Midge Rendell during "Surfer Girl". The sound wasn't too bad. I think parts of songs were cut off either because they went to a commercial or were coming back from a commercial. The cheerleaders were present; one was from the Philly area. Matt Jardine was awesome.

Thanks for the info.  Smiley Yeah, you can hear some equipment problems in carl's guitar. I think it was in Don't Worry Baby. It "clunks" a few times.  Grin He also makes a gesture to somebody offstage, by pointing at his guitar. It was probably the wheather.

Can someone help me:  what is the late 80s TV show where Brian makes a cameo as a teacher?  Is it online?

I know I have it buried away on VHS somewhere.
