Hi, I'm new here. Came to enjoy and maybe occasionally post. It's hard to find folks in person who share my interest in the Beach Boys/Brian Wilson, especially being a 30-something female in Northern Appalachia, so I'm grateful a board like this exists.

Welcome!

I'm a 30-something female in Cordoba, Argentina, a city where the only BB songs ever played on the radio are Kokomo and I Get Around. I'm also grateful for this and other boards.

Hi, Silken! Another 30-something female BB fan! Awesome. I'm sorry I didn't see your welcome till now. Hope you are having a nice holiday season!

Cat liked the brand new basket immediately. He moved his toys & knick-knacks to it, threw ancient basket upside down, like saying this is the past year item.

Short notice: the cat you see to the left is the best. Not counting your indoor cat who might have habit sitting at your left side when you post at SmileySmile.

Hello. Doing a little better after family craziness (still going on but am adjusting).

Reflected by music playing in my mental jukebox. On replay for a couple of weeks was the not very calming song, "7 and 7 is" by Love.
Thank goodness my "jukebox" is now playing songs such as the vocal track of "Little Bird." Much better!

and btw I enjoyed your take on William Blake on another board.

"7 & 7 Is" is cool. You don't like fast songs with cool dynamic intro, NBBF?
Btw, perhaps this should be in "What did you do today" thread.

That song is not what I usually listen to. It's not a bad song but that type of music raises my stress levels if it plays over and over in my head.
Posted here because JK was hoping that all was okay. After a big bump for a few days everything's okay in my corner.
And hoping all is well with you and kitty, and that the weather in your neck of the woods isn't as crazy as it is in much of the world nowadays.

Ooh! I missed this, E. Thank you! You're the only person to comment on it. Smiley

Initially I posted it there in all its brazen glory but then decided to link it instead, as being less off-putting to others who were contemplating posting some poetry of their own. It's still the last post in that topic! Grin

I love these conversations about ostensibly minor musical details. They are what make this forum. They may be over my head at times but I can live with that. Grin

And still no definitive answer as to who might have played it.

Both Al Vescovo and Brian Wilson have said it was Al Vescovo who played it, and listening to the part with a critical ear, it's basic but so well played that it wouldn't sound as perfect coming from an amateur steel guitarist. People who play steel guitar will notice the detail such as the intonation and the touch/technique. The only part that doesn't fit is that no session sheet has shown up with Vescovo's name on it. But when you have the producer and the musician himself both saying the same thing, unless other info surfaces, that's pretty definitive for now.
