check out this new documentary by colin hanks.  It's about the rise and fall of 'tower records'.
The 'boys' get a mention about 9 minutes in, and describes how the singles market turned into
an album selling market amongst the youngin's with 'surfin safari'.
it's around for download.  highly recommend it.  great doco if you are into vinyl.
