Far too young. RIP

Yes, far too young.

I'm hoping that the celebrity deaths slow down at some point.  It's been almost nonstop since Lemmy passed just after Xmas.

Shandling was an excellent comedian and comedy writer and supremely innovative. I think that The Larry Sanders Show was partly responsible for the wave of great television shows that began in the early 2000s. Without that show it would be hard to imagine there being a Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office or Arrested Development or 30 Rock. Plus it was the first show to routinely include celebrities playing themselves and making fun of themselves in the process - something that is now quite common. Also it was just flat out hilarious as was his earlier show It's Garry Shanding's Show, a similarly innovative and unconventional sitcom.

And, the great Ken Howard.

Hardly a week for good news.
