I'm currently getting in shape for the beach and would like to change up my playlist a little bit.

I'm looking for suggestions of songs that have a motivational/exercise-type message. As well as any generally high energy songs to get the blood flowing.

A few examples I have on the playlist right now are "Baby, Let Your Hair Grow Long" by Brian, "Breakaway," "Celebrate The News," and "H.E.L.P." by The Beach Boys, "Confident" by Demi Lovato, "Part of Me" and "Roar" by Katy Perry, "Stand" by Rascal Flatts and "Good Life" and "Break" by Three Days Grace.

I have A LOT more, but just wanted to give these to show the diversity of what I'm looking for.

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

ONJ Physical, of course.
Oh! And anything from Flashdance.
Was there music from the Jamie Lee Curtis movie Perfect?
Music from the Bring It On movies. Or Footloose?
And don't forget to start your day with little chocolate donuts.

I'm no fan of Whitney Houston but I've always found "Step By Step" to be a wonderful motivational song. It's raised my spirits on more than one occasion...

All BW solo —

He Couldn’t Ge His Poor Old Body To Move
Too Much Sugar
Oxygen to the Brain

I know this might not add to the variety, but there definitely are a handful of them!

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Did you get in shape? I've been trying to get back in shape lately and I found myself listening to music that made me feel very nostalgic for a time when I was younger and in great shape. For me, it was Third Eye Blind's self-titled debut album. I don't think I'd listened to it in about 16 years, but it was one of my favorite albums as I was entering high school. It really motivated me to go jogging a few times.

Too Much Sugar

Yup! I've successfully recommended 'Too Much Sugar' be added to a workout playlist or two. It's just good fun.
