Just wondering, I know that Dennis Wilson sang it in around 1972 and maybe later and I just noticed that Carl sang it at a Princeton University concert in late '71.

The Boys seemed to like to shake things up in the lead vocal department.

Maybe since Al was taking some of the Brian leads, he agreed to let Dennis and Carl have a go with some of his.  Especially since there weren't a lot of Dennis moments in their shows.

Why would he be?  Carl did the Wild Honey lead, then Blondie took it. They did a lot of lead-switching.
