So what happened to this bed. Aside from being one of the biggest beds I have seen, it's a huge part of history. This thing should be in the Smithsonian!

Anyone know what happened to it?  Smiley

Marilyn still owns it.  It was in the guest bedroom in her home on Sunset Blvd when I visited in 2012.  I actually laid down in it!  She and Daniel have since moved to Woodland Hills to be nearer to Carnie and Wendy, and I'm sure the bed went with them.

And she still owns the "Wild Honey" stained glass window too!   Smiley

Nice!, great to hear that piece of history is in good hands.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Very cool on both counts. Roughly how large would you say the Wild Honey stained glass window is? I recall it looking quite large in a B&W photo showing part of it, but I seem to recall a poster here who had visited BW at Bellagio Road saying that it was above the front door.

That would be Mikie.   Haven't seen him here in a while.  Did he get pissed off?

I saw the stained glass boxed up in a large wooden crate (but I did get to peek inside!).  I'm guessing the crate was about 6 feet by 6 feet, so maybe the window was 5 feet by 5 feet?

Okay Lee, while we have you, and since you saw this thing first hand, is it a King or is it a custom size? Hard to tell from the videos, and that headboard is pretty massive so maybe looks bigger than it is.

Lol okay that's enough questions about a bed!

Good question...  Honestly, I think it may have only been a Queen or Queen Extra Long...  The massive carved headboard did make it seem bigger than it actually was.  The guest bedroom was rather small, and I don't think a King would have fit in it.   My wife and I sleep in a Queen wooden sleigh bed, and I'd say it was similar in width.

Lee,

Marilyn doesn't have the Baldwin organ by any chance?!

Great to know that the bed and glass are looked after.  Those things would be worth a fortune!  Very iconic.

Nope, no organ (at least not in the house)...  She did have one of Brian's baby grand pianos, and the piano bench with the intro notes to "Surfer Girl" embroidered on it, but I remember that the folks who bought the house on Sunset were trying to negotiate the piano into the price.  I don't remember where that ended up...

When's Mikie going to be back? It wasn't a permanent ban, was it? I'm assuming he can petition for reinstatement.

Didn't Brian very recently say it was in storage somewhere ?

Somewhere, I have the picture of that I took in 1986 at Marilyn's then home in Encino...

He did Andrew, but it was maybe just a throwaway answer.  It would be great if it was though.

I love how Brian worked it into his own autobiographical fairytale ("Mt. Vernon") where the prince 'who was the oldest' stayed home inside 'the mansion', usually in his secret, hidden BEDroom...

Interesting math in some of those measures.

Oh c'mon. Triplet signs missing.
It should be 12/8 rather than 4/4, but it's ok enough.

Four quarter notes and one eighth note do not 12/8 make.

Looks like last note of first measure and first note of third measure should be eighth notes.  The flags (?) are missing.

Four quarter notes and one eighth note do not 12/8 make.

That's because it's missing the triplet (3) sign above the quarter and the eighth note.

Gotta love this forum - possibly the only known picture of a legendary BW-related artefact, and we're ripping it apart for technical imperfections.  I'm sure if someone posted a pic of the tape box of the long-lost "GV" vocal sessions, someone would  criticise the condition and bitch that it wasn't stored properly. Andrew, thanks for posting that picture.  It solved a background email debate between Mikie and me (yes, he still reads the board) as to whether the notes were to "Surfer Girl" or "California Girls."  Mikie swears he saw a bench with "California Girls" when he visited the house in 1976.
