Just up for pre-order on Amazon UK. People with better memories than me will confirm my suspicion that this has been around for aeons … think I bought a boot of this about a year ago.

This is the second up for preorder currently - wonder if there's gonna be a rash…

THE CLASSIC 4TH JULY CONCERT FROM 1985 IN PHILADELPHIA
This CD features the Beach Boys afternoon set in Philadelphia, recorded for FM radio broadcast - and later for a TV transmission when the show included numerous BB classics plus the group s then new single, Getcha Back, taken from their 25th studio album, remarkably their first eponymously titled record, released just a month before. With guest appearances during the Beach Boys set from The Oakridge Boys, Joan Jett, Christopher Cross and Jimmy Page, all on different numbers, the performance had a real party atmosphere and with reported temperatures hitting 90º F by noon, it was surely one Independence Day that most in attendance will still remember. The Beach Boys were back playing in Philadelphia nine days after this event, when they performed at the US leg of the Live Aid concert at the city s JFK Stadium.

Pre-listening available. Muddy sound, not worth it. Perhaps for these songs: Rockin' all over the world, Lucille, Surf city - yeah they sould definitely be doing some other stuff, not just their own... Lucille is wild... :D

Cripes, pretty dire sound wise… isn't the cover art (digital album) a shot from the Live Aid set?

How this band doesn't have a live box set of materials from the thousands of shows they have performed is amazing! Instead these kinds of releases are out there.  The decisions they make continue to baffle 50 plus years later.

I only listened to a sound sample from one… and gave up…

Looks like the first to that Amazon UK had only for Download are coming out with a Offical CD 2 in 2 months! I'm sure its just a matter of a few months until we get an "official" cd of T Mall Wasington 1981 and the Washington 1984!

What do you guys think?

I think I wish the folks at Capitol would wake up to the fact that there is a market for this stuff, albeit a small one but obviously a profitable one. If they're too big or too aloof to handle it, licence whatever live tapes tbey have to a specialist outfit like Rhino: whatever, stop the flood of this low grade sh*t that can only harm the band's reputation for quality, long term.

I want to hear it but I want to hear it done properly, by Linett & Boyd, in physical releases.

This recording has already been circulating for years under different names.

Thanks for the heads up.

A live box would be awesome. But, I'll keep getting these ones until they do.

Just got this today.  Again in HMV!  It's great walking in to a legit store and buying a 'bootleg'.

I probably have he download from a few months ago on Amazon or somewhere but it's good to have a physical copy.

The sond isn't too bad, the mix could be better though.  God Only Knows is as awesome as ever.  Then when I'm looking forward to Good Vibes, Chris Cross ruins it!
