Billy is releasing a new double CD called Mixed Messages, and will be on-line to chat about it and other things on Saturday, 4 March.  The chat will take place here at 2 PM Eastern - that's 7 PM in the UK, and 11 AM on the West coast.

Registration is NOT required for this chat, but there are people who have registered for the room previously, and those names [no, i don't know what they are!] will not be available.  You might want to go over there early and make sure your name hasn't been taken.

Here is some info on the CD, which contains tracks that have all been written or co-written by Billy:

It's a double CD, 24 tracks, recorded over a period of 35 years (1971 - 2006).

Several tracks have BB-related content:

1. "Music is Freedom" co-written with Jack Rieley ("Trader, "Long Promised Road") and recorded at Brian's home studio in Bel Air (same studio where "Surf's Up" and several other BB albums were recorded), engineer: Steven Desper [ 1971 ] Billy's first and only solo single.  Musicians included Carl Wilson (guitar), Carter (bass), Ricci Martin (drums), Tony Martin, Jr. (slide guitar, BG vocals), Hinsche (guitar, Brian's white Baldwin organ used on many BB recordings, lead vocals, BG vocals).

BB's massive, 3 panel MOOG system also used for this recording for special effects.

2.  "FBI Wipeout" --- recorded at FBI Headquarters in DC as part of BB live, private show.  Performed only once / recorded from the board by Jeff Peters.  Made available for listening in FBI VIP "Green Room" for the next 3 years and played thousands of times.  [ 1988 ]  New words by Billy.

3.  "Beautiful Girl" --- recorded at Al Jardine's Big Red Barn studio in Big Sur, CA with BB band members Kowalski, Carter, Meros, Hinsche [ 1989 ]

4.  "Let's Build a World" --- co-written with Carl Wilson / Caring Program Theme Song recorded at Ricci Martin's River Ranch Recording Studio in Utah. [ 1994 ]

5.  "I Believed She Loved Me" --- co-written with Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah and recorded from the board by Jeff Peters with BB band members Kowalski, Carter, Meros, Cannata, Hinsche  at Tropworld Hotel, Atlantic City, NJ [ 1995 ]

6.  "One in a Million" --- dedicated to Dennis Wilson, recorded in Vegas [ 2003 ]

Billy has graciously agreed to be open to any and all questions.

So Billy... can you tell us a little about how you single-handedly pioneered the glam-mullet look? Thanks.

If one lives long enough, one will  have a box full of photographs with embarrassing hairstyles and fashions.

By the way, I don't think that is technically a mullet.

THIS is a mullet

It went very well, thanks.  I'll be posting a transcript once i get a chance to put it together, and once Andrew Gladwin gets home from his business trip to post it.  I"ll let you kow.

No luck finding a physical CD. I don't know about this site but it looks similar to Spotify. Can't hurt to look at the Basic account for free.
