One of my favorite eras of the Beach Boys in concert is the year 1979. They played many songs only in that year: Peggy Sue, Roller Skating Child, Shortentin' Bread, Angel Come Home...
I have not been able to find information about the venue of the live tracks on this bootleg CD. They are surely not from Nassau.
Any ideas?

Found this for starters: "Alive And Smiling [Sphinx] Live Sacramento Aug 1 1964 + 16 Smile outtakes"

Edit: Oops. Should have checked the song titles first...

Let's try again...

How about this? The date is May 14, 1979, according to AGD (assuming it's Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY):

The first nine titles tally...

The chat between songs is different. I am sure that the show in Alive and Smiling is not Nassau.

Yes - if it's not Nassau, then it's Springfield. Smiley

Yes, it could be Springfield. Is this a guess or is it confirmed?
They played more shows around the same time.

Yeah, it's the first half hour of the 5/15/79 Springfield, MA show. It was part of an unaired recording made for the King Biscuit Flower Hour.

They actually played "Shortenin' Bread" in 1980 as well, even doing extended versions where Mike & Carl introduced every member, pretty cool.

Yeah, and Peggy Sue in 1978 too. I've just checked this.

Cool, the King Biscuit Flower Hour archives were acquired by Wolfgang's Vault and half of the Springfield show is available in their website via streaming.
http://www.concertvault.com/the-beach-boys/springfield-civic-center-may-15-1979.html

But it is curious that the songs available in Wolfgang's are not the same as the Alive and Smiling CD.

"Shortenin' Bread" on The King Biscuit Flower Hour----coincidence or a calculated move?  Cool Guy

I forgot to say thank you to all who have helped me with identifying that show.  Wink
