"Wake The World" was played Saturday night, July 9, in Phoenix. My memory is pretty lousy, but with a search I couldn't find any mention of it played previously by any of the groups. Certainly a deep cut, and possibly quite a rarity, in terms of live performances.

Yep, that's being played pretty regularly since 2015

Looks like Darian joined the band for at least some of the show last night (I see Billy walking off while Darian walks on stage during Brian's intro of WIBN):

Still on stage for God Only Knows:

Maybe Darian sat in for Pet Sounds?

On the No Pier Pressure tour, it was played as a medley with "Busy Doin' Nothin'".

He slipped quietly out on to the stage to replace Billy as Brian was introducing the Pet Sounds portion of the show; there was a little burst of applause from the audience at that point; If I remember, they went into "Good Vibrations" after the stage went black after "Caroline No" and then all the keyboardists were up on stage for the encore set.  Incredible, triumphant show, by the way. The place was packed like Ive never seen it before.

Thanks again to everyone who is reporting back on shows, and/or sharing links. Hoping they keep the setlist up the 38-40 length as much as possible.

I've added setlist links for the most recent shows to the first post in the thread. Note that the person(s) posting the setlist for last night's Hollywood Bowl show seem to be confused or are only sporadically updating it. The definite downside to that site is that someone can just post a half-remembered partial setlist of a show.

It was packed indeed, but the same as it was for the C50-sold out for both. BTW, I had the purely random chance to sit next to Jerry Schilling last night, what a very nice guy. In terms of the show itself, obviously great.  Al and Matt were tremendous. Darian indeed replaced Billy during the PS set. Brian was having trouble walking and needed assistance getting on/off the stage much as he did from Mike on the Fallon show in 2012. Honestly, I have to say that Brian has lost a step vocally since last I saw him in 2012 (when I thought he was TREMENDOUS, for Brian).  He turned many of his vocals into speaking parts and has turned many of the vocals he handled previously over to Matt.  This is not a complaint, after all Brian is 74 and those have been 74 hard years. As I watched the encore, I really realized this may be the last time I would be seeing them onstage (of course, I've been saying that for 20 years now).  It was an emotional, great night.

I'm reading that M. Ward opened for Brian last night at the Hollywood Bowl, which might explain why Brian and the band may have done a shorter set.

According to this clip Tony Asher was also there last night. Is that him (I presume with Brian's kids) stage left? Did he get a shout-out?

yes and yes.  He was introduced and came out during the encore.  The man plays tambourine like he works for an ad agency or something.  BTW, I happened to walk past Tony Asher at the Bowl during the C50 and he couldn't have been nicer or more gracious. I said "thank you for the lyrics".  His response was a very sincere, "No. Thank you."

True, Zooey also came out so it was a mini She and Him for a little bit which was ok, but I didn't pay to see She and Him (and last night's set list is accurate).

Hell of a crowd at the bowl show, amazing.

The vids are brilliant but also check out video from the celebrity theatre show in Phoenix, that was a party.

I'm surprised there was no "On the Island" or any kind of joint performance.

check out video from the celebrity theatre show in Phoenix, that was a party.

A very apt description. 1800 people, all within 25 yards of the stage. The crowd was into it from the start, and the band members seemed to pick up on that & had a great time themselves. Specifically, I've never seen Al as animated as he was all night. Great energy; you can see it in any of the "HMR" videos on YouTube.

Really terrific show at the Bowl! It was satisfying seeing Darian AND Billy Hinsche in the band at the end. When I saw Hinsche in the audience of BrianFest, I blurted out "you should be on stage!" He laughed politely, but it was great seeing him back on stage with the guy he opened for at the Bowl with decades ago... To a sold-out house. That has to be a tad satisfying.

Seeing it completely full of people with stupid smiles was a delight. As was the shrimp pasta and beverages. Sure, I could have gone for another hour long set and more pasta, and maybe M. needed a lozenge but who am I to be critical?

I'm not sure. She kinda looks like Wendy, and Carnie *is* there, but the person in question is kind of moving and dancing in a way that doesn't look like Wendy to me.

So is Darian only going to play select shows and do the PS portion for this tour?  I have tickets for the July 23 show and hope he is there.

I agree - I don't think that's Wendy. She looks too self-conscious.

So is Darian only going to play select shows and do the PS portion for this tour?  I have tickets for the July 23 show and hope he is there.

It appears that the original plan may have been for Billy to fill in for Darian from May 15 to June 20th (basically the UK/Europe leg and then the first few US dates after that), which is what he announced on his Facebook page. But starting up again on June 30th, Billy has continued. I would guess Darian is simply still busy doing whatever he's doing (some folks have said some Disney soundtrack work), and he might join up at some point.

I think he may have just popped in at the Hollywood Bowl because he perhaps lives in the area?

Based on how it has been going, I'd guess you'll probably get Billy on July 23rd. I'd guess the next most likely spot Darian might re-join could be when the tour picks up again in mid-August.

But Billy is a cool guy and a good guy to have in the band. He's apparently using Darian's keyboard pre-sets and all of that, and it's cool seeing several old BB touring band (and Al's Family & Friends) guys in the band.

If you're seeing the band on July 23rd, I'd be more bummed about it apparently being the one show on the tour that Al is going to miss.
