The 'preventative' addition of Billy Hinsche and Garry Griffin also points to that.

I believe Billy is not part of the first leg of the tour. I wish he was.

Less than 48 hours to go.

First show is today! Is anyone from here going?

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

Yo!

Noel Gallaghers band cancelled last night supposedly because their guitars got held up in Chile. Didums! Madonna was 2 hours late and pretty average a few weeks back. Expecting better things from the professionals tonight! LOL

edit: Just reading todays entertainment section in the paper and there is an interview with Al. Nothing new but a good line about the L&M movie.

"I had no idea I was that tall or good looking!"  LOL

Brian hits the stage in a couple of hours!  New Zealand is the kickoff.  he has a touchdown photo on his website, he is looking pretty cool at 74.
have a good show Bri.

does anyone have access to this?

It was everything I'd ever dreamed. Brian was amazing, Al was back in 1965, Matt blew the roof off. I am now an official Blondie disciple. Nothing can top that ever. For those curious aside from Pet Sounds they played:

Wake the World
Honkin Down The Highway
Funky Pretty
Wild Honey
In My Room
Don't Worry Baby (Matt)
Shut Down (Al)
Little Deuce (Al)
Barbara Ann
All Summer Long
California Girls
GV
Heroes and Villains (Bicycle Rider)
Our Prayer (Opened the show, I wept)
Love and Mercy
Surfin USA
One Kind of Love
I Get Around

I can't describe how incredible it was. The whole thing was awe inspiring. It'll most likely be the only time in my life I will see him and I'll treasure it forever

Brian did stop a few times as expected but he often kept singing until Matt was forced to take the higher notes, his heart was definitely in it. Love and Mercy for me was better then amy version I'd ever heard. Blondie murdered the guitar too

well done!  that'll be with you forever. To think you've seen the great Brian Wilson in person. It's a cool thing!

yeah Brian is Brian.  some nights he is ok, some nights, not so flash, sometimes just killer!
depending on the song too makes a big difference to his performance.  He is up and down. Still, who cares. It's him!

I have so many great photos and videos too. This really is childlike joy for me. Al was so appreciative of the reception. Funny thing is (now I 100% am not starting a Mike argument here please) but when Al was singing Shut Down I had this sad twinge of sadness that the whole band wasn't together with Mike and Bruce there too even tho Al nailed it.

I'd post videos or photos from my phone if I could but I'm still on my phone at the Hostel Tongue travelled all the way from the deep south for the big fella! Should be able to post some clips tomorrow!
