Got my tickets for the St. Augustine show! This will be my fourth Brian Wilson show and my fifth time seeing him in general, as I also saw him in 2012 with The Beach Boys.

So psyched to soon be able to say that I saw Brian play Pet Sounds live. Seeing him and company do SMiLE in 2004 was amazing, but I think Pet Sounds will top it!

Not a huge fan of seeing Brian live, but I will say that seeing him and Al do the entirety of Pet Sounds together at UCLA's Royce Hall back about 10 years ago was no doubt one of my all time Beach Boys-related highlights. Al's vocals on the PS material were incredible (I Know There's An Answer, I Guess I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, et al.) It was better than Brian's Roxy shows that I attended which were recorded for the Live CD.  I am sure this tour will be a good one.

I saw Al and Brian together do "Pet Sounds" in January '07 in Oakland. Al unfortunately but understandably didn't sing a great deal of leads during the PS set. But the moments he joined in, especially of course on "I Know There's An Answer", were worth it.

During that short PS 40th tour, they did "Wouldn't It Be Nice" in the lower key Brian had been doing it on his solo tours, and Al took the second verse. I think Al also came in on parts of "Sloop John B" and the overlapping tag on "IJWMFTT" (as he did on C50).

It'll be interesting to see how much of the PS leads Brian hands off to others on the upcoming tour. Foskett sang "Don't Talk" in its original key on its few 2013 performances. Will Matt sing it in the original key on the upcoming tour? Or will they lower it and have Brian sing it as he did in the past? Will Matt sing WIBN, or will Al? Or Brian? Will Matt fill in some falsetto bits (e.g the end of "Caroline, No")?

This Billboard article says Billy Hinsche will be joining Brian.  I wonder if it will be for the whole tour, or just a few dates.  It also suggests that the tour continue into 2017.  Great news!

Seeing that this is being billed as the last PS tour, I'd hope that most of the album's leads by Brian will be sung by him. Whether or not they'll be in the original key seems unimportant.

Bowling Green.... closer, but still over three hours away.  Hopefully that date means they'll add something closer to me in the days before that concert.  Can't imagine they'd do Bowling Green, but not Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, etc.

The Horseshoe Casino - Elizabeth, IN show is just over the river from Louisville.

Couldn't have been closer to us!

That Billboard article mentions a list of touring band musicians, including Darian, Scott, as well as Billy Hinsche and Gary Griffin. So I dunno if they're just listing a bunch of musicians that have played in the band over the years, or they're indicating that Darian and/or Scott will miss runs of shows? I can't imagine them needing four keyboard/piano players.

No VIP

But we will be at the steak bar while the soundcheck thing is happening.

Ya never know some of the band might get hungry for a ribeye!

I'll tote a BB CD along just in case I bump into somebody...

I don't know how I missed that after all this time.  LOL  However, I wouldn't be able to attend since I'm not 21.  Plus, it looks like I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway.  $252 for a ticket seven rows back.  Maybe if I was buying just one ticket, but I'm also buying two others.

If there is talk of this tour going into next year then possibly band members have other pre arranged commitments. Some fill-ins would be required if that is the case.

Well I'm late to the party but after saying the C50 was my last Beach Boy related concert, I will be there on opening night here in Auckland in 7 days. While not one to sit there with pen and paper I will try to remember to answer these and any other questions the day after.

I blame Blondie for this change of heart. Smiley I've never seen him play live and I suggested here that he should cut loose on his tracks such as 'Wild Honey' when he first joined Brian. I'm not taking any credit but, what do you know, he did, so it would be rude not to acknowledge that in person. Also the fact so many artists, many younger, have left us in the last 6 months or so, these guys deserve a full house and appreciation for their continued efforts.

This should be the last time though.....but then again there is still Ricky! Wink

That's exactly the case -- this tour has a lot more dates than other BW shows and some of the "regulars" are not available for all the shows. Even Al will be missing one show due to a date conflict.

Can you share which date this is? Brian's website has not mentioned Al missing a show; he's listed on the main tour literature/logos/banners (not sure what to call them).

Al has a date scheduled with the Surf City All Stars on July 23rd and it's a private gig which makes me think the people requested Al be there, so he's probably gonna miss Brian's date in Louisiana. Again this is a guess based on a quick look at the schedules but idk.

Howdy Folks,
I have two wonderful tickets to Brian Wilson (With Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin) on Friday July 1, 2016 in Las Vegas at The Joint in The Hard Rock that I can't use due to a maddening work conflict.  I bought tickets to Massey Hall a few days later in Toronto instead (now it seems I may not be able to use those either...ugh).  Anyhow, I believe the show is now sold out.  I am not a scalper and am just looking to recoup what I paid.  The seats are great.  They are in the Gold2 section Row KK (the two seats are together, of course) which is 11th row centre on the floor in the orchestra section.  This is prime seating as if you are much closer you may not see Brian with his white piano obscuring his body and head.  This has happened to me before so these seats are up close but not too close.  Anyhow please contact me if you are interested.

richp20@hotmail.com

I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and these are hard tickets in my current possession, not sketchy e-tickets.  Buyer pays shipping.

Is this the right place to post a message like this?  Just curious if there are any dedicated pages out there in the Brian Wilson / Beach Boys messages boards that focus on Tickets for sale or trade.  Might it be useful to have a thread or section dedicated to that?  Apologies if this exists and I am out of the loop, or if this post is best placed elsewhere.  Any help is much appreciated.

Also if you are interested in the 2 Massey Hall tickets for The July 4 Toronto show, let me know as I may have to give those up as well.

Brian's Facebook page posted a few of pictures of them rehearsing Pet Sounds.  Brian was singing That's Not Me in one of them.  By the looks of it I'd say there will definitely be some sort of documentary.

Al also posted pics yesterday mentioning that they "recorded Pet Sounds" for Spotify at Capitol studio. Sounds like they recorded the full album live in studio for Spotify?

I see Billy Hinsche and Gary Griffin in these recent pictures, but no Scott Bennett.... Anyone have info on this? I recall a post on FB from Scott which seemed sad and out of character, bit it'sgone.

Scott posted a pic of Brian and Al in the studio yesterday and said it was a fun day. So I would wager that he's present.
