I subscribed to the Palladium newsletter and they've just notified us that there'll be no pre sale today and that all tickets would go on sale tomorrow. Annoying as I had got up early to make sure I wasn't driving when they came online! It will be a free for all tomorrow.

So, based on the email I received, the idea is existing ticket holders get the chance to upgrade to a VIP before the VIP packages are made available to the great unwashed (who in Melbourne are myriad).

"As an existing ticket holder you have the first opportunity to purchase either of these strictly limited upgrades. The VIP Upgrade Packages will be available to the general public on Friday 29th January 2016 at 9:00am (AEDT)."

There are 2 offerings for "my" gig:

Royale with Cheese:

    4pm start
    On-site Concierge
    First Access Merch Shopping
    Exclusive Soundcheck Experience
Meet & Greet with Brian Wilson
One Signed, 50th Anniversary Pet Sounds Lithograph (numbered/limited print)
One Signed, lead sheet of "God Only Knows"
    One VIP Commemorative laminate

or
Sound check pack:

    4pm start
    On-site Concierge
    First Access Merch Shopping
    Exclusive Soundcheck Experience
50th Anniversary Pet Sounds Lithograph (numbered/limited print NOT SIGNED)
1 Brian Wilson Soundcheck Rubber Wristband

Whilst the lure of a rubber wristband is almost irresistible, I must be good and stick with my bog-standard row 4 centre seats for now.

Which show? Seems like the venues themselves are sending out the codes.

Awesome, thank you! How do I search for tickets that aren't VIP/Soundcheck packages?

The non-VIP tickets go on sale at 10AM. You and I along with many others will be competing!

Q: If your tickets cost are equal or greater than the VIP level 2 ($250) does that mean you can attend the soundcheck ? Havent been to a show in a long awhile all these options are not familiar to us.

No. You have to buy the VIP package separately from your tickets.

Ok thanks, Andrew

We can just hang out in Starbux or something until they open the doors.
Or maybe hit some jackpots on the slots... yeah right!

I hope the stage is low enough to get a better perspective than the pic posted.

Brian should wear his keyboard, use one of those strap-on jobs.

Things have certainly changed

In my younger days we just walked into Sound Warehouse to buy tix or purchased GA at the gate.

Of course the concerts were $6.50-$8.00 to see acts like Zappa, Tull or Led Zeppelin.

Bands like Nektar were $5.00 and went to tons of Free or $1.00 shows to see acts like Black Oak Arkansas and Head East.

I just spent more yesterday than ALL the dozens of fantastic bands of the Seventies.

And they say the Jimmy Carter years were bad ones.... Razz Grin

I secured a front row seat for the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Last time I was stage left and right in front of Brian. This time I am stage right (though I tried for stage left), assuming a similar setup, I should be right in front of Al. Huge thanks to my wife, who rolled her eyes last night when I mentioned going to my third Brian Wilson show within an 18 month span.

How did everyone else do?

I got front row Detroit as well..  But by Brian.  Which excites me to no end!
I'm so nervous about meeting him, even though I know it will be awkward.

I think I've finally worked this out!  There are no mention of upgrades for VIP tickets outside of  the US.

Basically, you buy a ticket. Let's say Row F.  You then purchase a VIP package.  You go to the soundcheck etc but still go to the Row F seat when the show starts.

No upgraded seats meaning original seat not left unsold/empty!  Grin

No reserved seats means anyone can get in first and get front row etc.

Edit:  The US packages seem to be better value for money as premium seats are included, as well as a photo.

I really hope that there was only a reserved amount of tickets available for the pre-sale. I really want to go to the show in Seattle but it says no two tickets are available next to each other. Sad

Just to 100% confirm before the rush gives me a heart attack, if you want VIP tickets for the UK shows you have to buy a standard ticket first, correct?

Yeah, their site failed utterly.  Try Seetickets or Stargreen.

Just sorting out Palladium tickets, hope BW adds the Sunday and maybe get the VIP package to boot
