I believe there was a thread for this a few years ago;   One of the names suggested , as with Parrot Heads or Dead Heads, was Beach Heads.    I move that we adopt this officially.   I am a Beach Head.  You are a Beach Head.  WE......are
BEACH HEADS.    This covers fans of all BB band configurations, solo acts, and children of original Beach Boys who keep the summer alive.  This has been discussed and needs to be set in stone and put out to the general media.  I have given this a lot of thought and I feel the time has come to adopt this and promulgate, put forth the group identity of "Beach Heads".

There's only so many heads you can have in this world and to go with the Deadheads there is also a large fanbase known as the Breadheads...

Ha. The band in the sprawling multi-author satire The Beard of Love, salvaged from the now defunct Capitol Board, is called The Beachy Heads.

For the curious, it's here:

I seem to remember that one of the Beach Boys books from the '90s actually had categorizations for, say, die-hard fans versus the more casual listeners. (I refuse to use the phrase "casual fans" because that's a contradiction; if you're a fan -- which is short for "fanatic" -- you're not casual!) I think it was "eloi" versus "morlocks," terms borrowed from a book I was probably supposed to read in high school but didn't.

At least you got the author right. Cheesy

How about "The head voices"? Because that high register singing is the trade mark of the BB's sound.

On the other hand, Brian also hears voices in his head. That makes it a bit creepy, although even more fitting because of the double meaning. Um... Forget it.

what brings you to such a state?        Just curious......only having a bit of fun here........I've actually used this in a tongue and cheek fashion to convey to folks why I would travel all over to see three versions of the same band over and over and have seen these guys countless times.......deadhead, parrot head, they understand.........part of a subculture that intensely follows and digs a musical act.......shorthand,  that serves to describe in a word, this sort of relatively harmless obsession

Sandheads.

I recall an interview with some rapper or EDM type person who said something about 'Wilson-heads', which sounds pretty nifty, if you wish to idenitify as a Brian Wilson fan only.

These names usually evolve organically. It made sense with the "Dead Heads," and was a funny parody with the "Parrot Heads." "Beach Heads" sounds like an attempt to be one of the gang… Hey! We've got a bunch of fans, too!

But, if we're going to adopt a name, I think it needs something more unique to our fandom. I mean, Justin Beiber has his "Beliebers" and Lady GaGa has her little monsters. We can do better than that, surely.

Rambling brainstorm….

Hawthorne Boys Appreciation Society
BEACH-NUTS
Beach Buffs
Vibes (Shades of Mike Love!)
Banana and Louie Fan Club
Sandbox Surfers

eh…. brainstorm on...
